Is Exeter going to get its own set of units to replace the 142's - i.e dedicated fleet from the 150's - or

is there going to be a common Bristol / Exeter pool?

Just wondering? Are all the 150's going to be maintained at Exeter or Bristo?

Well at the moment all the 150s are officially allocated to Exeter, but still turn up more or less anywhere, so I imagine that would still apply.

Believe the original 150/1s (Not part of the Cascade), 150121 and 150127 will be PM allocated and formed into 3 Car Sets with the introduction of 2 x 150/2 vehicles but toiletless, (150209) These will possibly be formed with a 153 (similar to 150399) to make 3 Car Sets until they are refurbished.

Believe the plan is for 150/2s and 121/127 allocated to St. Phillips Marsh with the 150/1s allocated to Exeter. They will still probably all turn up everywhere though. Presumably 001 and 002 will be allocated to Reading.

What will happen to 142 units?

These have returned to Northern where they will boost capacity. The 143s are staying, there were ideas on sending these down to replace the 142 allocation around Exeter and put 150's on the Bristol area locals, but it still seems to be a mix at the moment. FGW now has an assortment of 150/1 sets from London Overground and, more recently, London Midland, and a couple of ex-LM 150/2 units (202 which derailed at Westbury and is now out of traffic being one of them). As mentioned above it is planned to use two 'odd' non-toilet 150/2 driving cars from written off units as centre cars to form a pair of three car 150/1 sets, I've heard these might be allocated to Severn Beach line services but who knows! There are also the two Class 153 (325 & 333?) which came from LM on a 'summer loan' but are now staying permanently.

I saw 009 at Central but dunno about the others

142009 was delivered back to NH and I had it in the North West last week. Allocated to NH on thejunction.org.uk I think 029 and 068 were the ones sent to Heaton. Might be wrong though...

Northerns fleet does have a habit of wandering off away from its home depot.

FGW also have/will have the two original 150/0 three car units, which are supposed to be going to the Reading-Basingstoke service, many many miles from all the other FGW 150s

Supposed to be and are - Here's 150002 on it's way from St Phillips Marsh to Reading for driver familiarisation -

Meanwhile, 150001 is currently in more than 3 pieces LNWR's /Arrivas/ EWS's Bristol Barton Hill undergoing by the sounds of ita fairly hefty amount of work - which is also the reason as to why 150126 still hasnt made much of an appearance yet with FGW (Essentially 126 has become a test bed as to find out what may or may not need doing and repairing - ie...floors), despite it's arrival with FGW back in september (FGW & Angels view towards 150001 & 150002 is apparently long term - so the longer the lease = the more work get's done to the units)

:)

029/068 are based at Heaton. However according to one magazine (think its the one published in Sheffield) 009/029/064/068 are at HT whilst the rest are NH. 001/009 have been seen in service around the North West, where as 030/063 and 068 have vanished of the planet since their return from FGW.
