I saw it today, looks very attractive and I love they are keeping the yellow as well. I think the 61 will be getting EV's as well, looking forward to seeing those next year. I also heard the 4/4A and 38 are getting them too.

Anyone have a photo?

That will be a lot of E400MMCs to debrand. I wonder if they’ll be branded for other routes or just kept in the standard livery.

The Strathclyde bus Facebook group had a photo of it. I think they already debranded a few of the E400MMCs.

The 77 seems to get a share of unbranded E400MMCs from what I've seen before and after work. I also surprisingly had one on the 3 a couple of weeks back

Does anyone know how many will be delivered in this batch out of the 91 EV400s on order?

Scotstoun use an unbranded shorter wheelbase E400MMC on the 77. Last time I was in Glasgow, few E300s were on the 77.

Over the last couple of weeks there's been some mornings I've seen buses from the 2 on the 77. It's definitely a very recent change as it's got more common.

New batch unbranded though so will be used all round
I wonder if the branding has now ceased and all the routes which were to be branded are the ones we have now.

It’s become harder since the merge of Caledonia and Cumbernauld/Parkhead. Then with Covid trying to keep buses on their branded route is virtually impossible. Buses have been turning up just about anywhere. There used to be more order and they were more strict with allocation.

I think part of the issue is there's now too many buses branded for certain routes due to the frequency cuts still in play. The 38 is the best example. Buses to the fort still every 15 mins instead of 10, Newton Mearns every 30 mins, Rouken Glen every 15 mins instead of 10 due to the 38E only running from the City Centre. It's lead to them going astray due to being spare. Some routes could certainly do with more double deckers so it's helped in a lot of ways.

More of the Enviro400 EV's are arriving at Caley depot, with 38406 being the first of the batch for the 75. Overall, they look alright in my opinion, I can only properly judge them once they are on the road next year.

They remind me a lot of the T and V plate Tridents with the centre staircase. I wonder if we’ll see more branded routes.

This is very nostalgic for me too. The downstairs doesn't have a back window as well which is nostalgic for me as the Enviro500's and the East Lancs Viking's didn't either when they were used on the 75.

I mind them Tridents. Hardly any seating downstairs, I always sit upstairs on a decker anyway. I wonder if any Geminis will get retired soon.

38406 is the only one out, the rest are still to be branded or delivered

Volvo Olympians VO1-4 and 44-163 didn't have rear windows on the upper deck and lower deck. Ex KCB Network VO27-43 and CO244-249 only lacked a lower deck rear window.

Some Volvo Citybuses also had their rear windows panelled over when they were still wearing Strathclyde's Buses colours (from memory AH100 was one of them).

This was done to accommodate the application of mega rear adverts.

Must be very similar to existing E400MMCs.
Very similar only in my opinion better

I wish the 2 were seeing new buses. Hopefully as they begin to expand the electric buses into other depots it will see some new stock preferably singles and doubles.

75 38 61 and the 77 which will be moving to caly depot are due to get the e400ev
Weren’t the E400MMCs specifically fitted with luggage racks for the 77? Doubt you’d be able to get luggage racks on a E400EV. I’m not saying you’re wrong because I mean it makes sense for the electric buses to be used on a less lengthy route like the 77 and the demonstrator bus was seen going along that route but equally it’s strange that all the routes which have recently had new buses will be getting newer ones and so many of these routes will need to be debranded. If the 77 gets EVs I’d like to see the current buses have their luggage racks removed and used on the 2.
