We've still to receive Manchester B9TLs so don't get your hopes up. Caley is short on buses, Dumbarton E300, Scotstoun B9TL and a Blantyre E200MMC all on loan to Caley just now.
Yet 34368 has been sat about for months after repair. Why not get it back on the road if they are so short of vehicles?

I think they did it also to cover four other buses (33220, 33993, 34367, and 37218) that have gone up to Aberdeen on-loan while Aberdeen are waiting to get the rest of their E400s from Manchester.

Thanks, I'm guessing the electric double deckers are that bit taller than the diesel ones to be able to pass under it safely? Anyone know if there is a plan to rectify this?
They had E400 low heights on the 6 but I think most went to Aberdeen.

Not happening Sunday anymore.
Was there a reason why it didn’t happen yesterday?

Anyway, new post, apparently we’re going to be getting something like the Manchester Bee Network in near the future (or in like 7 years or so):
The article says:
Bus services in the west of Scotland are set to be brought back under local control under radical plans.
The current deregulated network could be replaced with a franchise system like the ones in London and Manchester.
This means fares, routes and ticketing would be controlled by a local public body such as Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).
However, SPT has said it could take seven years to set up and would need at least £45m in extra funding every year.

There is a separate thread for the proposed SPT franchising here:

Alright, thank you. We can discuss it more there if we wanted.

New Post

I noticed that another Ex-London E200 is now at the Dumbarton depot, number 44462. I saw it on the 1D earlier while on the 1C into Glasgow City Centre (the bus I was on was 47620). They must of entered it earlier than they were planing to do into service to cover for 67721 being damaged recently.

I might catch 44462 again on my return home 1C service later tonight.

Changes to the fares from the 31st of March.

Forthcoming Fare Changes

Changes from March 31st 2024

Following a review of our fares, we will be freezing the majority of our tickets.
From March 31st 2024, changes will come into effect to some of our fares. However, we have worked to ensure that these increases remain below cost price inflation.
For customers purchasing tickets through the innovative Tap On Tap Off payment method ticket prices will remain at current rates, including Single and Day tickets. This means that those using the contactless method on board only pay for the specific journey as fares are capped at the cheapest option for the route.
On-board, or First Bus App Two-Trip, Day Ticket Bundles, Week and First4Week tickets will all also remain the same price while Single, Day and First4Week tickets will see a below cost price inflation increase by 3% from 31st March.
This means that those who typically purchase Single and Day tickets can switch to Tap On Tap Off as their payment method, and will therefore not see an increase in the ticket price.
The announcement comes as we continues to invest in our customers and services; adding more buses onto the road to meet demand, improving punctuality, and increasing the number of zero emission electric buses in our fleet.
For more information on Tap On, Tap Off; please click here.
Please see below an overview of fares in place from 31st March 2024.

The Family Day price increases on App seem a bit steep compared to the other changes. The other App increases are a bit high compared to the other fares.

Plus it seems you will no longer be able to purchase the family ticket on the bus.

Vehicle 34402, it’s a 72 plate diesel?

I’m guessing this was the replacement for the 65 plate that was burnt out?
The 65 plate 33981 was repaired and is now in Essex. 34402 is the replacement for 32657 which was the vehicle painted in the Strathclyde Transport heritage livery which was burnt out in same incident at Caledonia Depot as 33981

The former-Manchester Gemini buses arrived on Saturday night, I think they’re being de-branded first, as I’ve seen images of them at the Caledonia Depot.

Also I‘m pretty sure 33220 and 37211 have swapped depot allocations (ever since the former has came back from Aberdeen loan), as I’ve seen 33220 on the 3 & 6A this week.
