I wish we’d get an order of new E400EVs or E12s/U11DDs. Glasgow seems quite stagnant just now even though I understand we’ve had quite heavy investment over the last few years. Some of the B9TLs/E300s are really grubby now - I was on one today on the 2. Bad
The Enviro 300s needing a complete refurb years ago.

3 years since the first E400evs as I noticed the older ones are 71 plates. I suppose its good for passengers with no drastic route/time changes. Don't get many new routes in Strathclyde, most of the excitement is East or on the coach network.

Rumour has it that there may be ten deckers heading to the beleaguered Aircoach operation in Dublin to convert the 700 from coach to double deck operation.

Any truth in the matter? Are 33101-33110 expected to become avaliable anytime soon or are they going to do something silly like send over 10 aging city spec deckers and charge the same premium price that they are doing now for coaches?

The new Electroliners are expected for the 500 in early 2025 so I assume it’ll release the current airport buses as they’re already airport spec and have luggage racks fitted.

Surprising given Aberdeen are short of buses at the moment.

Does bare the question after previous discussions above - perhaps they are struggling with capacity on the 6 and need deckers.
33913 was one of 2 that Aberdeen have not been able to make more reliable since it arrived and it has spent a lot of time out of service in the year it has been here.

37471 is now at Aberdeen so it looks to be it's replacement.

Five low height E400s are due to return to Glasgow in exchange for Geminis.

They swapped it for another Ex-Manchester Gemini, number 37471.

The 6 requiring deckers is promising for passenger numbers after seeing singles for a time leading up to Covid.

I wonder if it’ll be an option for First to procure some specially made low height deckers for the 6 when the E400s are due for replacement.

ever since they got their gearboxes remapped about 2 years after delivery they have been snails. only a few good ones. 902/910/914
The Euro 6 retrofits haven't helped matters with them constantly going in to derate. 33901 is probably the least slow of the ones at Aberdeen but they all go through phases of being very slow, slow or less slow. The ex-Manchester examples (minus 33698) are in considerably better condition both mechanically and cosmetically and have clearly been better looked after. The same is true with the Geminis, the Manchester examples are in far better condition than the Glasgow ones.

The Manchester Gemini’s are apparently horrid for drivers. 37461 jumps like mad.

To be fair, nearly all of them have had a better refurb though.

Excluding one of the ones on loan to Aberdeen hasn’t been refurbed, and is still in the Olympia livery.

The Geminis aren't on loan, they're a permanent transfer. Hence 33913 returning to Glasgow.

What bus is it covering for?
There’s a good few buses which have been out of action long term and aren’t tracking anymore. There’s lots more singles appearing on busy routes like the 38s as of late so no doubt Glasgow are short of deckers.

Glasgow has always been short of decker's has it not. Despite orders of E400mmcs and E400evs there was the E200evs, E300s from past orders.

Glasgow really do need the buses they loaned to Aberdeen back soon.

Instead of ordering 50 new E200EVs they should have ordered deckers but they never learn their lesson as has been a common theme with the 2 (previous 62).
