New number for route 2?
Today and yesterday first kernow twitter advised the 400 will be operated by a blue closed top decker.
Btw is 39920 still about, I didn't see it last week when I visited?
I thought route 2 was Penzance to Helston to Falmouth?
I thought 38000 was in preservation?
38000 (D700 GHY) is listed to participate at the Isle of Wight Beer & Buses weekend and is shown as being owned by Dave Tossell of Weston-Super-Mare.
Ex Western National Bristol VR's LFJ 844W and OTA 290G along with Bristol LH BDV 318L complete the line up of former Western National vehicles.

39920 is apparently at Penzance. I don't know if it has been in service or not.
39920 has been parked at Penzance depot for the last two weeks (22 July- 5 August) and has not been used in service during that time.
I heard from a inside source at Penzance depot that they received a urgent instruction not to use it, related to DDA 20 days interpretation.

There was a blue Enviro 400 MMC was at Penzance this afternoon and again this evening. I don't know what services it was operating.
Thanks for that. One indeed on the 2 today.
Trident 33378 (UHW 661) is at Camborne in Buses of Somerset colours.
One of the President bodied Tridents to come from Norwich 33234 has been painted in the Atlantic Coaster livery although yet to have any branding or fleet names applied. Today it was seen pressed into service on the 37 whilst I was passing through Redruth this morning.
Another arrival at Camborne is 33380, presumably loaned for the Boardmasters event in Newquay .
Blue MMC 33471 on service 2 today.32097 is now registered MIG 3844.
Blue MMC 33471 was on the A1 this morning and the A2 this afternoon. On Chyandour Cliff lined up in the traffic was the aforementioned followed by red MMCs on the T1 and A17. Moments later I espied a Mousehole-liveried bus disappearing into Pz Bus Station on the 16 service, the first time I've seen one of these buses on anything other than the M6. Lead letter in the 'Cornishman' newspaper today was one decrying the new shelters in the bus station, suggesting they'll not be fit for purpose once summer ends.
The Penzance bus shelter is better than what came before, what exactly is supposed to be wrong with it?
Not mentioned on here previously AFAIK but the First travel shop at Penzance closed last month. Information is available at the National Trust shop at the other end of the building. Problem is that all the leaflets and timetables are in boxes behind the counter and you have to ask for what you want!

The writer of the letter, who is known to me, explains that the old shelters were useless and therefore expected something better in their replacements, but on a bad weather day 'last week' (probably the week before, now) the whole floor was awash with water and people were left to huddle on the bits of seating least affected by both the rain and the wind, which was whipping around.
I have not experienced the new shelter on a wet and windy day but I noticed there are gaps at the bottom where rain might be blown in. I will reserve judgment until I sample it on a bad day for myself.
Personally if the weather is wet and windy I dress accordingly and wear suitable footwear. Standing around in wind and rain can be uncomfortable but is it really that bad?
