The fleet list on BusTimes reckons that all the blue Enviro 400MMCs are in “coast to coast” livery, but how many are in reality?
The former Commercial Director "@OntheBuses" stated on this thread that they were due a repaint this year so perhaps it was decided not to bother doing more than a couple, especially with the shadows the previous vinyls left.

In Camborne today there was an unidentified yellow open top decker, type unknown being worked on. It wasn't one of the existing three Sunseeker Volvo B9's as they were all accounted for.

I have seen a photo but as it's not mine won't share it here but it was partly seen in one of the engineering bays.

I was wondering if it might possibly be connected to the open top service scheduled to start on the U4 next month.

I will pop in that way in the next few days and see if I can add any information.

I would have thought it would be on the fleet changes list for last month unless it arrived since then

Unless it's an existing member of the open top fleet that has been repainted? I have no idea to be honest but just offering a different perspective.

If you look dig deeper into the replies it's suggested that a route test was never carried out and the routing is unsuitable.
I don’t think that sharp hair pin turn was ever going to be the route though, I did that short link between Lynmouth and Lynton last year when it was the open sided single decks, and the bus carried on past that junction and turned around to approach from the opposite direction, although I’m also not entirely sure that was permanent either as there was a road closure in the area so the bus actually turned around behind a road closed ahead sign.

That sharp turn certainly appears to be on the route map, together with a 5 min timetabled hesitation at Castle Hill Car Park.

All-in-all one heck of a "timetable error".

The leaflet can be downloaded here:

There’s an alternative way with overhanging buildings, again unsuitable for high sided vehicles

I don't think the error can be pinned on a timetable,

Also, one journey to/from Blue Anchor removed.

Apart from a new timetable being uploaded on the First website under the timetables section there's been absolutely no publicity to alert anyone of the change, and the Adventures by Bus website still displays the old timetable.

The first bus I saw on Monday during my first dose of the outside world for eight weeks was a double decker on the Mousehole service. I felt disappointed that the advertised service to and from Mousehole Harbour was once again not being worked, but, on due reflection, I was annoyed that the bus made no mention that it was not making the full journey. Given that no doubledecker can access the Harbour, why does the destination blind not reflect that? The words Coastguard Hotel directly below Mousehole, just as West Cornwall Hospital was added under Penzance when the 17 was extended there from the Bus Station a while back, would inform would-be passengers, some of whom might wait for the 'proper' bus for the service to arrive. An alternative, more explicit, might be AVOIDING HARBOUR in brackets, but would be unlikely to find favour, perhaps. Roll on the new stock.

I don’t believe there’s any reference to which of the routes it’s taking neither

Having spent a half hour or so sitting on a bench at Abbey Basin this afternoon, I saw a d'd Mousehole bus go down towards the bus station then reappearing ten minutes later. I was given to understand a bus coming in from one routeing would then go out by the other. Incidentally, roadworks and temporary traffic lights outside the Wharfside Shopping Centre were adding extra time to this routeing.

The route wasn't serving Lynton on the 12th June either - before this timetable change. I wonder why?

It’s literally just been discussed on this very page - no safe way to get a double decker from Lynmouth to Lynton is the upshot of it.

A safety issue that, worryingly, wasn't noticed until the service started...

Just been in Taunton today. The bus station situation is a bit of a fiasco, where pretty much every out of town route all go from one bus stop, all blocking each other in, with the SPS coaches also using the same stop and some independents added into the mix as well. All while the old bus station just sits there empty.

On the positive side the ‘Green’ Enviro 400s look smart now they pretty dominate the network. The 28 looks a bit run down, is there a low bridge on the route meaning it has to use single decks?

The ex Badgerline G-reg Olympians used to cope with the 28 as well. I don't recall having seen any of the bridges having been reassessed for clearance and height restrictions since then, but i may be wrong.

The bridge at Coombe Florey is restricted to 4.2m/13’9” according to Google Streetview. According to Wikipedia, a Wright Gemini Eclipse (for example) is 4.23 (13’11”) or 4.4m (14’5”) high. An Enviro 400 is 4.2m or 4.3m high.

Taunton station bridge (cleared by said Quantock Scania) is also signed 13' 9'' (believe First has hit that bridge a few times!). Indeed Quantock's open top Scania was originally bought for & originally operated right through to Ilfracombe from Minehead some 18 years ago until the route became split at Lynmouth due to Devon County Council banning the open top from its supported Lynmouth-Ilfracombe section due to too many issues with passengers being hit by trees.
