A bendi will go anywhere a 12m single does with relative ease, so long as it doesn't require reversing!
So it won't be going through Truro but be providing a supplementary service to RCH Treliske which is fine though just personally I'd prefer to have a proper double decker!

Western Greyhound of course trialled a E400 decker on the Truro P&R.

First trialled 2 deckers a few weeks after they took over, as part of the test to what vehicles the council should buy. One was loaned from Manchester, the other was one of the Enviros now at Falmouth for U1/U2 services.

The remaining two First Kernow Vario buses rarely venture away from their usual duties in the Penzance area.

Today though 52526 was out on service 47 Truro to Troon via Camborne seen here at Troon late afternoon before setting off for Truro.

(Not the best photo but as you will appreciate the conditions were rather difficult)

Solo 53402 was seen today with First Kernow branding so as far as I know three are treated with this branding (53402 - 53404). Here are 53403 & 53402 at Newquay.

The latest Optare Solo for first Kernow 53709 (MX59 AVP) has appeared after a refurbishment and repaint. It is in a similar colour to 53402 to 53404 although the main colour seems to be silver rather than white.

It has not received any First Kernow branding yet other than on the areas above the door and drivers cab.

So retaining most of its old livery? Reminiscent of late 80s West Mids Travel

Looks OK. It will no doubt be hitting the narrow streets of Mousehole soon.:D

PCB won't like that nor will CCC/DCC as it's a tendered route

I don't think DCC will mind so much if they can save money on a tender, albeit they'll have to pay for a Saturday service

What's the summary on the new registrations for Kernow. A new 94 Truro to Newquay, extension of 27 to Bodmin, new 24 Fowey to Meva. Has the 76 got a revision too?? Anything else?

I'd thought I'd read somewhere that the 76 was back into Bude, but we'll have to wait and see on that one!

I can confirm that Optare 53709 was in service on route 6 to Mousehole today in Penzance, along with 53107 and 53826. First Kernow branding appears above the entrance doors with a First Group badge on the front radiator and it does look smart in its silver livery.

In addition I noted Olympian 34615 between duties in the bus station fitted with a black radiator presumably from a sister vehicle.

The recent launch of new First services to / from Newquay got me looking into my photo collections.

Here is Bristol VRT 1182 on service 92 at the "old" Truro Bus station on the 23rd of April 1988 whilst behind is Leyland National 2839 on service No 18 to St Austell.

Prior to 13th October 1986 when service 18 was extended from Truro to St Austell service 32 operated between St Austell & Truro.

Here is Bristol LH 1560 at St Austell bus station on 4th October 1986.

Finally for now who remembers the X1 Plymouth to Penzance service?

Plymouth based Leyland Leopard 3500 leaves Redruth for Penzance in September 1986. It was the only example to carry this colour scheme.

Superb photos!

Here's a photo of AFJ747T at St Just in July 2006 working a Dart Diagram. This was back when it was the 17/17A for a period before reverting back to the 10/10A.

Something I'd never seen before this lunchtime - an only slightly-late 2 being turned at Penryn (Asda) rather than Falmouth. Anyone know why?

34104 has joined the ranks of ex Oldham Olympian's now with First Kernow. I saw it in Penzance today whilst trying to get an "in service" photograph of 53709 (MX59 AVP) which I later found out was "out of service" at Camborne.

Typical!<(

This is very strange. I boarded the 1145 Falmouth - Pz the other day which left twenty minutes late from the Moor. If it was turned at Asda how did the passengers get to Falmouth? Maybe changed onto a U1/U2 at Tremough?
