Trident 32712 was on the U1 /U2 this afternoon, no sign of the blue E400 during a 2 hour stay at Falmouth.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Buses on service 300 were disrupted this morning (Thursday) by an overturned van near the A30 / B3306 junction near Lands End airfield. One St Ives bound Volvo Citybus could not get through and turned around and headed back towards Sennen.

Van driver appeared to be unhurt and fire service attended from St Just.

Apart from the occasional weekday 17 service I've not seen any opentoppers this year away from their usual routes, until today that is. A Citybus was on the 15.20 departure from the Greenmarket on route 5 to Sheffield.

Don't apologise - they're great photos

Thank you, I have tried to be a bit creative, it's easy to sit at a bus station and take a three quarters view. It took a bit of thinking through and lot's of chasing around all over the place to get them.

There are so many good places along the routes to take pictures I could have tried many others if I had the time.

Anyway that's my last time photographing these iconic and long lasting buses, next summer won't be quite the same.

No but time moves on and the same thing was said when the VRs went a decade ago.

Agree with your views on photos. Really liked the creativity. You see so many almost identical shots in certain locations, great to see people really put some thought and effort in to produce something visually arresting. Great work <:D

Nice photos there. I was travelling on 38005 St Buryan to St Ives, that was you I saw between Lands End Airport and St Just!

I had an enjoyable day riding around on the 1/300/17B had 38004, 38000, 38005 and 34137 however was quite cold upstairs today. Volvo B7TL 32209 was an unwelcome sight at Lands End on the 1143 300 as I was waiting for some Volvo Citybus mileage to St Ives. I has planned to head to Truro in the afternoon to see what was on the Truro College departures, but in the end decided to stay around West Cornwall all day on the open top vehicles.

Shame they won't be around next year, as the Volvo Citybus batch certainly still seem to perform brilliantly on the 1/300/17B, powerful machines tackling the hills around West Cornwall with ease. Hard to believe they're almost 30 years old! Lovely vehicles

I have still not seen 50236 that you reported as coming to Cornwall, do you know if it has moved down?

Unusual sight Market Jew St Pz yesterday 13.30. A Mousehole-liveried bus was going down with 'DUPLICATE' showing and a large cardboard no. 6 on the near windscreen. The possible reason for this was that sat on the Boots stop in the opposite direction with hazards flashing was another Mousehole-liveried bus, 53709 I believe. There was no sign of the driver, so the breakdown or whatever must have occurred earlier.

53709 has been the only one so far reported in Mousehole livery. Does anyone know the identity of the latest one thus painted?

Just as Cornwall seems to be getting a decent (compared to recent years) fleet of buses together, we now seem to be getting a number of Solo's that appear to be past their "best before" date. 53120 appeared to have several niggles at Camborne today and I have seen several other problem buses in recent weeks. You wonder if the examples reported to be heading down from other areas will be any better.

Whilst I am not in a position where I have any detailed information on the condition of incoming vehicles, my observations of some arrivals in the recent past do not fill me with confidence.

Let's hope I am wrong and the Solo's are in better shape. Take nothing away from the hard working staff at First Kernow but it's past reputation as a dumping ground for knackered buses will be hard to shake off.

Looks a little bit rough round the edges. That said, these will doubtless replace Tridents that are only on routes because they replaced ancient P/R/S Darts this time last year. Wonder if they're destined for a long life in Kernow?

53826 is also done (and it needed it)

Observed on the service today.

Tales of Penzance fitters lighten up the recesses of a local pub on a Friday night, apparently, fuelled by all that nice overtime!

Scania 65769 worked the last 45 service of the day from Helston to Camborne on Friday, first time I've seen one on this route.
Meanwhile Fal River Trident 33112 has some lower bodywork replacement and is noticeable as the new panels have not yet been painted. Inside just by the door an overhead panel was hanging down, bringing the door controls and some electrical wiring with it!

33112 I was told a week or so ago had been in quite a heavy accident, the driver who told me expected it to come back with one of the new liveries.
