Did anyone manage to book one of the free Virgin Trains tickets in the Mirorr today?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-st...neys-only-with-virgin-trains-115875-21426388/

It seems that VT have reamed up with the Mirorr to fill up the empty Pendolinos for the next two weekends. Free tickets all travel on all routes to/from London Euston in Standard Class during the next two weekends.

It looks like the offer will also be available tomorrow, and tickets can be booked online from 9am. A coupon is required when presenting the ticket on board, so one would have to buy the Mirorr newspaper as well.

I wonder if the PIN code will remain 'MIRROR' tomorrow, as it was today?

Do you have to physically buy the paper to get the PIN code?

The above link says the PIN code is 'MIRROR'. But when I try to buy a ticket (of course I can't) I'm asked to enter a unique 10 digit Daily Mirror pin code. So does each copy of the Mirror have a unique pin code printed (unlikely), or is there a single pin code ('MIRROR' today) which you enter at 9am on the site and if you're lucky you then get allocated a unique 10-digit pin code?

I won't buy the paper til later only to get the coupon, so if someone can post the pin on here before 9am, that'd be great.

Go to http://www.mirror.co.uk/virgintrains/ after 9am tomorrow or Thursday and apply for a PIN code. The password is MIRROR and then you have to do some simple sum like 8 + 4 (to prevent spam) press continue and a 10 digit pin number appears. Copy that number and then book your ticket using the instructions. You will need to register on the Virgin Trains website as you book.

Booked a trip to London and back with my lad (who's wanted a trip for a while now and getting it free is better than paying!!) next weekend. Got about 3 hours in London (could have had longer).

Got my 10 digit pin, but at the moment I'm getting the following error message when trying to book my journey on the Virgin website - "Sorry, due to a technical issue we are currently unable to process your request. Please go back and try again...."

I think I'll give up...

I've got the pin and I've put the details into the booking engine with the code in the "promotional code" box and it says it's not valid.

I'm I doing something wrong?!?!?

A friend managed to book the ticket.

The T&Cs state that a coupon is required from the newspaper to present to the TM in order to validate the rail ticket. However, looking in the relevant page of the Mirror today (p22), I can't find a coupon to cut out and take on board. Does such a coupon exist?

No - there is no coupon. Perhaps an oversight? Or just someone got confused?

There's definately no coupon!! So you can travel still.

On another forum it states that Virgin have stated that you don't need a coupon and one of the T&Cs is 'No Purchase Necessary' so you don't even have to buy the Mirror then???

I managed to get 20 tickets! And share them out amongst friends, of course. Just sat there for 5 minutes at 9 o'clock entering MIRROR and doing a bit of maths...

Since allegedly this was the last batch of 2000 tickets, it seems unfair that you abused the system for your own gain although I doubt they'll find out if you distribute the tickets amongst friends. I wonder if some of the freebie tickets will end up for sale on ebay...

If anyone is interested I have two sets of tickets which I now don't need (A friend and me both booked the same tickets)

So if you are interested in:
09:30 from Euston to Glasgow returning on the 18:00 service from Glasgow to Euston via. New Street

or

07:50 from Birmingham New Street to Euston returning on the 18:03

These are both for this Saturday, and there four tickets for each journey, if you are interested please send me a private message.
