the rail head into Quinn glass, Elton by Chester is on the cusp of opening although that may mean the railhead at Manisty Wharf, Ellesmere Port stops being used.

The nuclear power station in Hartlepool started generating in 1983, so the Seaton - on - Tees flask trains won't have started until then. What did it serve before the Power station?

How sure are you of that one? With Peel involved, what they say and what they do are two different things. It would be nice though and fingers cross it actually happens.

Very sure (wink wink nudge nudge), there is a contract for bin trains to start running in 2016, network rail are doing gauge clearance and drainage works in uphill and tunnel and restoring the damaged infrastructure at the terminal.

Is the freight terminal at Bristol West still used by rail freight? I've not read anything about it recently and so assumed it had gone in the same direction as the much vaunted freight terminal at Fratton which had also hoped to see train loads of alcoholic beverages.

Bristol West has 2 trains a day in, two out. It's wine in big containers for bottling in Bristol.

Liberty sidings area is not well placed for some potential traffics. I would have thought the ideal place for a multi modal depot in Bristol would be at Stoke Gifford, although Avonmouth is nearly as well connected to M4, M5 and Bristol itself. Avonmouth and Portbury have already been mentioned.
