Signal failure not long after also, in case that wasn't enough of an issue!

Real time trains entry for the offending train.

SLAB interposed into the berth after Huntington according to open train times maps.

4L98 will move forward, reverse the offending wagon into sidings at St Neots and then go forward to destination.

What type of train and wagons was it, does anyone know? Unusual occurrence if it’s a container train, they're generally well clear of platform edges.

Thameslink has said the disruption is now over, so platforms fixed?

The rear brake handle was dislodged and out of gauge.

Huntington platform has reopened and TL services are able to run as normal.

Oh thanks, does that mean it might have been happened much earlier and they were lucky to reach Huntingdon?

Unknown where the brake wheel handle was damaged, first that became aware is when it smashed the platform at Huntingdon when a member of public reported it to staff.

Brake wheel is what was initially suspected but after examination it isn't the case. While the brake wheel was damaged it has no evidence of a new strike. Most of the handbrake wheels are damaged in someway within terminals by terminal equipment.

Was on the 11.15 LNER Leeds to Kings Cross, we came to a standstill before reaching Stevenage. Then started crawling slowly and stop starting. Conductor said we were in a train queue due to debris on the line. Ended up into London 58 mins late!

There was quite the queue as trains needed to be talked through two signals on the up fast through Huntingdon.

I was travelling on the 10.33 Kings Cross to Leeds Mk4 set and we were delayed into Peterborough by an ‘operational incident’. Now I know what it was.

Bad luck. Two more minutes and you could have claimed 100% Delay Repay :)

Something tells me there was no luck in this! We were over 60mins late at one point according to the on train info screen. (Though the conductor was encouraging us to collect delay repay money). Tbh I wasn't in much of a rush and the mk4 seat was comfortable. Another couple however were wondering if they could still make a Heathrow flight!

To be fair, Real Time Trains shows a +60 minute late arrival!
