Hi all, looking for information into a running from Crewe S S M to Frodsham Jct Cheshire, the TOC is under ZZ and the ID is 610Q timed to arrive at 7.46 but arrived at 8.10 info on RTT it was down for Diesel at 60mph. as there is nothing at frodsham JCT only a loop line and the Halton curve it is strange that a train would be sent there. also there is no timing for it to continue or return to a base this was on Wed 11th Nov 2015

Frodsham Junction does have a loop as the image in this picture shows, perhaps there is some reason why it has to be timed that way and it could go in the loop to await another train passing. In many cases trains like these don't reach their destination anyway and turn back enroute.

Surely this is an engineering train onto the curve as part of the refurbishment? There have been fairly regular trains up to that part of the world from Crewe.

One of many trains over the last couple of months. I suspect there may be one or two more over a period of time.

You do get trains terminating in the middle of nowhere to coincide with engineering possessions... a recent example (may not be 100% accurate) is Bescot Yard to Cheddington, from where the possession will start.

A lot of the time the final timing point is nowhere near the possession, it is just the closest place we can get it.
