Future of the Greater Anglia "Retanus" Units

Wonder what future the retanus units have as a lot of money was spent on them?

That said PRM modified units have gone for scrap too

Unless for some sort of light freight use, I see no future for them.

Just to be pedantic it's Renatus :p

I expect the owners would have planned the leasing charges so that the costs of the refurb are covered by the expected length remaining on lease. So if nobody wants them, scrap.
