I know the 2024/2025 season hasn’t started yet, but if the England select committee can hold fire for a bit I’m sure Stoke manager Steven Schumacher may be in need of re-employment :)

How about a committee formed of ITV/BBC/Sky pundits. :D Surely they know more about the game than any single person? Just in case they can’t come to an agreement, have a process to pass the decision on to Twitter and Facebook ‘influencers“ o_O:E

I suggested Billy Heath on the other thread - while direct play did seem a little more "in fashion", as it were, during the tournament, Sean Dyche would probably be adequate. I suspect it will be Graham Potter, which I wouldn't mind - he did very well at Ostersunds FK and at Brighton, and Miracle Max wouldn't have succeeded at Chelsea.

Graham potter and Lee Carsley seem to be the bookies favourites from what’ve I’ve seen across social media

But neither have the players either. They are the ones actually playing the game. I’ve not heard abuse directed at them.
I haven’t heard anyone suggest they get a knighthood either.

Howe now seems to be putting distance between himself and the job saying he is happy at Newcastle but Potter on the other hand has thrown his hat firmly in the ring by saying he is ready for a return to management 'should the right offer come along'

I'm not at all sure about this guy. He certainly seems to have a very high opinion of himself and I've no idea what he has done in the past to think he is that good.

He has twice turned down Leicester and was interviewed by Brighton and Ajax before doing the same and there are no doubt others.

Maybe the money he is still being paid off by Chelsea made these decisions easy for him but does it not show a certain lack of ambition on his part to just sit back instead of doing what he should love doing and working every day?

Sarina Wiegman. Been there, done that, got the trophy. That's if you don't mind a foreigner doing the job (see under Capello, Eriksson).
Agree

Role of a national manager is very different to that of a league one. How many top club managers have failed at the national level and vice versa.
