If they were islands the names would be capitalised.
I am aware that the initials BIOT stand for British Indian Ocean Territory for just an example of the quoted examples and thatthe Gilbert and Ellice Islands in the Pacific Ocean were part of the British Empire from 1897-1976,, but not much more.
It's "biot" not "BIOT".
I think I know this. Gilbert is associated with electric current. So, all three are some variants or form of measurement or alternatives to SI unit Ampere?
Not amperes but near enough, they are units in the CGS EMU system. Your turn...

This is a fairly standard one. The name is listed in the Guinness book of records as the world's longest place name. It is a major city and is very well known by it's of course, of more common shorter name. Which is this city?
