yea worse case possible for me as traveling 10th to 12th on NJ's on a Paris-Vennia-Hamburg trip then 14th on DSB to Copenhagen, both use DB drivers inside Germany :(
Maybe as a consolation price:
If the Nightjet is cancelled, ÖBB should be willing to rebook for free to a later date - e.g. in the more expensive season around Easter or the summer holidays.

Found flixtrain at £6 pp and thinking that it is worth a back up Flix train booking for those dates. Assume flixtrain are not as affected by GDL strikes on the main routes?

I'm booked on EC 113 between Salzburg and Schwarzach this coming Saturday (27th). Scotty is still showing it as running, while also (in the strike update) saying that trains between Munich and Salzburg are cancelled (where EC 113 is routed via). Are OBB likely to run the Austrian portion as scheduled or cancel it altogether? We can get an REX an hour later but I'm guessing this will be packed.

It will most almost certainly run on the Austrian side, especially as ÖBB have some days to replan things. Not a 100% guarantee though, and delays are possible.

The Scotty thing is quite typical: include a generalized warning as fast as possible before updating each and every train information (that will probably follow).

Thanks for that. Scotty now showing EC 113 as partially cancelled but running from Salzburg onwards.

Any idea what stock they're likely to use? Last year I recall this was DB loco-hauled stock, complete with restaurant car. I presume that won't be the case on Saturday...

I guess our seat reservations will also be invalid if they've changed the booked rolling stock too.

EC112/113 have ordinarily been ÖBB stock for years.
Yes, it's EC114/115 that have switched over from DB stock as of December.

On topic - I've taken a bit of a risk and will be travelling to Vienna from Brussels over the course of a weekend next month for a bit of an Interrail jolly.

I've worked it out that I can go from Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Basel, Zurich etc if needs be - albeit much slower. We'll see what happens.

The strike ends at 2AM on Monday, and there are no strikes until 3rd of March.
How reliable do we think the no strikes till 3rd march is?

I have journeys on 2nd and 3rd, currently got flix train/bus back ups so could cancel one for the 2nd while I still get 100% refund.

100%, it is forbidden under German labour law, so called "Friedenspflicht" (peace-obligation), a duty not to engage in industrial action during the negotiations.
The new negotiations between DB and the GDL will beginn on 05.02., and if they fail, GDL is aloud to strike again from 04.03., since there is the Friedenspflicht until 03.03.

Has the Federal ministry got around to creating a transport strikes web page yet?

The Italians have had one for more than two decades (scioperi.mit.gov.it)
