Just the one, for service increases due to new student beds opening in the vicinity of Bournemouth Rail Station.

Good to see more new vehicles for Bluestar but a pity that First are about to outdo (albeit in terms of frequency rather than vehicles IMO) Bluestar by running a Service 1 as a direct copy of the route of Bluestar's 12.

Have Bluestar not been largely copying First routes for years?
Interesting that First have actually decided to hit back this time. It’ll be interesting to see how they fair.

Yep they have been quite interesting to see the changes over even just the last 5 years.

UK Buses has the MMC's as 1253-1260 and there are pics carrying those numbers, but it seems the two Bluestar examples may have been very quickly renumbered 1678/9.....

Yes, the 12xx numbers are incorrect, the Unibus one has been renumbered 1672, with the Morebus 13 batch to sit in between.

12xx is for full height buses, whilst standard height will sit in the main sequence.

The Solo SR numbers are technically tbc.

More OmniDekkas are due in a few weeks from B&H.

Solos are for Salisbury.

The Omnidekkas are for recently-gained school contracts in the Southampton area.

It's not a direct copy as the 1 uses Millbrook Flyover, rather than the roundabout thereby making it usually the faster route into town from Totton. Bearing in mind the loss of passengers from Millbrook Roundabout it'll be interesting to see if there's sufficient demand from Totton for this to pay off. First also have some pretty competitive fare offerings compared with Bluestar.

There was an article back in June in Route One magazine (online) saying that some Euro 6 diesel Solos were due for delivery in September. Not quite sure of the reasons for the delay assuming they are the same vehicles. To my knowledge Salisbury Reds haven’t had any new Solos delivered this year so far.

A recent article in Buses mag (interview with Reading Buses people) reported that Optare have had issues recently due to a number of smaller suppliers going under, as a knock-on effect of Wrightbus failing.

This would seem to be a good reason why deliveries out of Optare in the past couple of months have all been delayed.

Have GoSouth Coast management noticed that their former Brighton Bluestar Scania OmniDekkas have Alexander-Dennis badges? I know it doesn't affect the random passenger but it's a bit strange.

Some buses have ADL bodies but Scania engines, it could be for this reason or vice versa? Or are they Scania engine and body?
