Filmed last month with us at the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway on one of our crossings using a class 20 and 4 Mark 1s. Our gates on the crossing were removed especially for the shoot and lights installed

This is why I love this forum.

How was it all co ordinated? Did you charge them much? Guessing the car was being towed empty over the crossing? Was it only one take?

Sorry for the barrage of questions haha

It could be pure editing; after all the train and the car do not actually overlap. It would be a composite of different part-frames at the same location, spliced together within each frame to appear as a single frame, made to look closer than in reality.

It certainly looks very much like it was sped up footage.

Really sorry guys but sadly I wasn't involved with the shoot as I was in college on the day. All I know is that the gates went back on the following day as two days later I was crossing keeping down there for a private charter.

I played this frame-by-frame, and based upon the 'waving' movements of the plants on the right-hand side caused by the car, and the left-hand side near the track by the train, I have not been able to find how this was edited - if it was indeed edited.

It could have been edited, but if so it's been done very well.

But then how did they recreate the air turbulence, if the vehicles were moving slowly?

True... I must say having watched it again full screen (with better wifi and not jerky!), it doesn't actually look sped up after all! The speed the car was travelling at would likely have made it a fairly safe stunt I suppose, it was highly unlikely to have ground to a screaming halt over the crossing. So maybe they just got on with it!

I don't know how they've edited it, but I don't think "they just got with it" would appear in the risk assessments that would have to have been undertaken

However much the railway was paid, I doubt that serious life altering injuries to May, the train driver and damage to the loco would be enough to compensate the risk.

So, there must be some good editing there........

The crossing scene may not have been edited/faked, but the hospital one certainly was!

And to get a parking spot right outside the front and not a 2 mile trek away!
