Has gWr change the fabric of the seats in the internally updated green hst set?

I seem to recall that the green and grey colour scheme had a light grey cover, with a no / little pattern. This set seems to have a dark grey criss cross pattern (attached a pic that sneakily took trying to not look weird!)

Doesn't seem to show the dirt up as much (but I may also be mis-rembering my last journey on the refurbished set).

Yes, that's the new 'updated' moquette (though one could use it as a scrubbing brush, the finish is akin to Southern's trademark Astroturf)

There is a dogbox movement in each direction between PM and Long Marston on Wednesday this week. Should be 368 coming back so presume will now be in GWR Livery following 318.

Great, so equally as cheap and uncomfortable as Southern's awful Astro-Turf then. They seem to be going from one extreme to the other with these!

Also disappointing to see that the seat back as just been chucked back onto the base again then - the FGW sets don't look this scruffy, but the "GWR" ones do seem to.

It's the same moquette as the refurbished 150/2s... it will hide any dirt much more than the light grey cloth!

Would be nice if the selected 24 PCs for HSTGTi could have a common theme , traditional policy..... .
For the GWR short sets I read somewhere that the 'common theme' is that it will be the FirstGroup-owned examples (and some Angel trains ones) staying (anyone know which are owned by whom?)

Thanks for the reply. A few 'celebrity' locos could be getting the power door mods then, depending on which Angel ones are done. I hope 43185, 43172 and 43002 don't get painted green before I've got decent photos of them in their current special liveries, or before the last slam-door set is withdrawn; and no de-naming of locos please GWR. If any of 43003, 43175 and 43185 are done in green I hope they swap the cast logos from the first four green ones onto these (as well as keeping the current nameplates). Really, it's a shame 43003 and 43175 weren't done as two of the original cast-logo green locos, and possibly 43185 as well (if another power car had got Swallow instead), with either 43024 or 43189 as the fourth.

Don't forget that 54 of those Angel owned power cars are to go to ScotRail - we just don't yet know which ones go north, which stay with GWR and which go off-lease.

…387140 & 141 have entered service?……

387141 has been out on driver training runs but not been into passenger service yet, however 141 is due to go to West Ealing on the Thursday 387 swap so will be found in service very shortly thereafter.
(IIRC 138 & 139 are the units rotating back to the TCD)

Good point. About 18 without a future use planned currently then?

Also don't forget that it's just as easy to swap nameplates around as relivery a specific power car!
Although it would be physically easy to swap nameplates around, I don't think it should be done. Naming a locomotive (except perhaps with a silly marketing name like 'First For The Future'), in my opinion, personifies that locomotive. People don't often change their names, or swap them; the name is their identity. Thus, I hope the power cars with GW-related names don't go to ScotRail (because they would probably lose the names if they did) and are kept on with GWR (and get the cast GWR logos) or sent somewhere (eg. preservation) they will keep their names.

Any chance of a link please?

I'd love to but I saw it on Facebook and, unfortunately, not sure if I know how to do the process. Also, have to respect the poster for using his photograph. I will look out, however, if I can any other source to post.
