Aha, progress!

So now we are looking for a station with a certain colour brick in a much smaller area.

For that sign to be used, it requires a member of staff so I'd also wager that this station is staffed which further reduces the list of stations we can pick from.

Handforth?

Not Handforth.

I'll explain my cryptic clue
The train service was running exactly as scheduled on this day, which is a Saturday. That is, no train service due to long term engineering works.

Also, your diagram appears to remove my station. This appears to be due to me using road distance, which I thought (clearly incorrectly) that I'd mentioned that I was using.

Hm, well allowing road distance from Sheffield >50 miles means we could just about have Farnworth, Kearsley or Moses Gate...

I'll try Kearsley.

Hmmm. Looks new. That sign and the handrail colour looks like it might be of ScotRail origin, so let's say Galashiels.

Definitely not Galashields - there are no steps like that at Gala (and no bridge for that matter, either)

I can't tell if there is another platform or not, but I think crehld is onto something good here...

Gorebridge?

I'm pretty certain that there's two platforms in the picture, so I'll stick with the borders theme and say Stow.

It is from this weekend but it's not any of the new Border stations you've guessed yet.

Shawfair?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Actually, could it be James Cook?

We have a winner. Shawfair. My post was meant to come across as it's not any of those Border stations that have been said already but it was indeed a Border station.

That is a very nice stone wall. It is also well used, judging by the opposite platform. Appleby in Westmorland?
