It was withdrawn. I can't remember if it was one of the powercars that went to Great Yarmouth

Have those that moved to Yarmouth Carriage Sidings all moved on to the docks now, does anybody know?

I know the weather has delayed the loading of the vessel so not sure if this has meant the power cars remaining at the carriage sidings a little longer

I know it's been mentioned in here already, but Rail Express No. 330 has confirmed (unless plans change) that they are reminding until May 2025, at which point they will be removed.

I cannot remember lease timings but perhaps this allows sufficient time for GWR to acquire any surplus stock from TfW displaced by the 197 introduction.

Nope, still at loading stage although as of this morning there were at least 4 power cars still sat in the carriage sidings at Yarmouth which are due to travel on this boat

So the 125 will grace Laira until at least summer '25

I'm still hoping they'll get to 50 years in passenger service! Need to squeeze an extra year or so, but looks like they will still be on deparmental duties post 2025 anyway

Other operators will want the 158s too but GWR should get enough. Wasn't it reported that only 4 mini HSTs will stay until 2025? That would mean they could be replaced by only 8 of the 24 TfW 158s.

ScotRail ones will still be around.

If that was the plan, why are ScotRail spending a load of cash on new WSP equipment for the power cars?

There’s a requirement to do some improvements now to address some of the issues ASLEF have.

As for replacement, the Scotrail MD has been quite clear no decision has been made whether HSTs will last the length of their lease or whether alternatives will be looked at as that is a longer term question (and presumably dependent on any negotiations with ROSCOs).

The HSTs aren’t the only rolling stock has Angel has on lease to Scotrail so it is unlikely either side will want to totally upset the apple cart and sensible negotiations can take place whether that’s further modifications or a change to lease end date. From my own professional dealings with Angel they are quite sensible and realistic (look at their early termination agreement re 442 etc).

Does anyone have the HST diagrams for the new timetable from 10th December 2023?
We do now, as someone started another thread here:

The 1555 calls at more stations, so despite leaving only 8 mins later it arrives in Penzance a full 30 mins later - by Truro the 1555 regains a the usual off-peak half-hourly pattern offset from the 1547.

To be implemented on 11 December.

Would anyone know the current status of 43194? And if likely to return at Laira?
Heard it may have been one of the few that had a power unit change?
Possibly with an exported example.
