Harringworth Viaduct

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is the right section or not, but is Harringworth Viaduct still in use? If so what sort of services (passenger/freight) use it, and when is the best day/time to see the most activity.

The line is also currently being used late Saturday and Sunday until lunchtime, with all St Pancras - Leicester and beyond trains (and vv) diverted that way.

There is also a Corby to derby service in the morning about 0930 iirc mon-fri.

It also has occasional use by Rail Tours. Panniers over Harringworth being the last. Not an easy place to reach by public transport though if you want to view the viaduct as ooposed to travel over it.

I went over going nothbound it last Sunday - the EMT services to/from St Pancras are diverted that way at the moment on Sundays due to engineering works.

Good views from the viaduct. We arrived in Leicester 10 minutes early (already booked to wait at Leiceter for 10 minutes)c- so we waited at Leticester for 20 minutes before reversing to go on towards Derby.

There is also a UK Railtours HST "IVANHOE CRUSADER 31st October" going over the line as well.
