Has a Driver job been withdrawn after you passed all stages?

Currently waiting for a course to come up, but it seems to be taking a while. Getting a little worried now.

Has anyone passed all the assessments/interviews/medicals only for the job to be withdrawn at the last minute?

Yes, with ATW after passing medical no job offer.
Also 1 other time with NR passed final Interview but received no medical/offer.
Known it to happen to 4 other people (no offer after medical) for a mixture of roles including Driving.

Why are freight Driving roles not talked about as much. Are they harder to get into? With all the operators seems strange people o nthis forum mostly talk about passenger TOC roles

Thats because freight companies almost never take on non-qualified

EWS/DB Schenker - No chance whatsoever of getting in
Freightliner & DRS - Very rarely advertise, but the chances of getting in are many times harder than an average TOC
GBRf - Chance of getting in through the Assistant Train Manager scheme but even this is incredibly tough to get into, far harder than to become a Driver with a TOC
Colas, Advenza, Fastline & other small operators - No chance whatsoever, these are strictly qualfied only

All freight companies will only consider experienced mainline Drivers only with extremely few exceptions, those were detailed in my post above. The only real chance to get driving freight for non-qualified is probably on the London Underground engineering trains whenever they advertise.

If NR have no drivers which FOC drives the 97s, yellow HSTs and other NR locomotives and multiple units?
I think it varies depending on what exactly NR need doing but in the main I think (and stress the think part) that DBS provide a lot of the drivers for NR.

They sub contract from TOCs and FOCs.
No they don't, the test trains are driven by DBS Infrastructure Monitoring drivers (part of DBS Construction). The drivers are ex Serco Rail Operations (SRO) drivers who transferred to DBS with the work when DBS gained the contract
