Hi, this Saturday I will be at York railway station and I want to quickly go to the Railway museum, what's the quickest way by foot, is there a short cut?
cheers

There used to be a pathway from the over-bridge from platforms 10/11 direct to the station car park, I'm sure I used it last summer

The path was there last year. Go onto the footbridge and go to the opposite end to the main train shed. You come down the footbridge steps onto the path. You should be able to see the NRM once on the path. If I recall there was no step free access this way if you are disabled or have kids in prams.

It is still there and is sign posted from the station concourse.

The path was there a week ago and all the above is correct.

The path is not going anywhere, though it will improve when York Central is built, by being across a nice open pedestrianised square. For now there is a crossing of the access road. The 'path' to the NRM is THE path off the east side of the station footbridge, so no need to 'look for the NRM'. The path goes to further car parks and the NRM and is the most straightforward route possible, walk off the bridge and you have no choice but to end up opposite the NRM entrance.

Yea, pretty much. Walk off the footbridge and the large complex of buildings that block the view of everything else is the NRM!

thanks, I should be arriving in York earlier than planned so hopefully will have a couple of hours to look around.
