I remember in another thread (possibly the Barlaston and Norton Bridge and Wedgwood stations thread) another user sent a link to an old timetable from almost 10 years ago.

So i am just wondering how can you find old PDF timetables online? For example old Silverlink and Central Trains and South West Trains ones? Is there some sort of archive website to find these?

Many thanks.

I'm not familiar with that thread, so this may not be the way they did it, but I tend to use the Internet Wayback Machine. Link: https://archive.org/web/. It works for most websites, you can see what Google looked like in the 90s for instance but I have used it myself to retrieve Irish Rail timetables for 2004, ScotRail timetables from 2005 and many others. I should add that it relies on the relevant page being 'archived' or saved at the time so won't work for all sites but I've yet to find many that won't work.

This is possibly the site you're thinking of, although it doesn't go back that far:

http://www.railtables.co.uk

Was the second hit on Google for uk old train timetables... :D

Thanks. Can i ask how are you meant to use this website? It seems to just come up with a search bar. Then i presume you are then meant to type a website in to the search bar which i have tried and it comes up with a calender. What do you have to do after this to find any archived timetables?

If anybody has timetables going back further; I'm happy to add them.

I do need to spend a few days trawling the various websites and updating with the December updates, but it would be nice if there was some consistency with the naming of the files as some TOCs seem to do them differently with each release.

I have to admit that I don't get as much time to keep it updated as I would like :(

The calendar shows which dates the site was scraped on. Go through them and try to find the PDFs, they may or may not be archived depending on how the site was set up. If the direct links don't work you can get a full list of all archived files by directory and go through them.

I had a quick look and there are SWT tables from 2003 and later available.

You'll find with sites like the wayback machine that any media or files won't be available as they've not been archived. Many of the sites are not much more than unformatted plain text with most images and formatting missing.

I'd be interested in the timetables from 1986 to 1996:

Scotrail Kyle/Thurso/Wick
Table 51 (I think) which was the old inter regional one.
Table 42 (not 100%) the Whitby - Middlesborough Line.

If anyone has copies or links for these ones
