Actually:

185/1: 23m DMU No End Gangway 1/3,2/3
350/1: 20m AC/DC End Gangwayed 1/3,2/3
350/2: 20m AC End Gangwayed 1/3,2/3
360: 20m AC End Gangwayed 1/3, 2/3
380: 23m AC End Gangwayed 1/3,2/3
444: 23m DC (ACW) End Gangwayed End Doors
450 20m DC (ACW) End Gangwayed 1/3,2/3

The only two classes in there that actually bear any similarities are, umm... None of them really, all different configurations. (Asside from the 350/1 and 450)

Well the class in question are the two Class 210 Units (diesel powered)
Four cars from these were later rebuilt in 1989 as a Class 457 (750V DC) and then in 1990 became Class 316 (25kV AC).
Well done on all of your guesses. Those that guessed 150, 317 or 455 deserve credit for getting the right bodyshell design.

1) We were/are a unique design.
2) We weren't/haven't been as well used as expected.
3) We were designed with a specific purpose in mind.

I, unlike my cousin unit use the same drive control system as the class 92, that was woefully out of date for MU stock when I was introduced.

I also only operate on one line. (Although that shouldn't be needed)...

GO!

Wow, I thought this was easy! The whole fleet has just been lengthened?

378s also use IGBT based drive systems, remember I'm looking for a unit that uses the same type of drive components as a class 92, namely GTOs (Gate Turn Off Thyristors) not IGBTs

Oh come on, it really isn't that hard! I've have this exact same class as one of my answers before...

Damn.... I actually half typed a post about 1996 stock then changed it to the 378s because the 378s were a much more recent extension...!!

I am a small class of traction who's basic design was used much more extensively for another class some years after I was built.
