Hello people,

Today, it was an honour to have been interviewed by the BBC in conjunction with Remembrance Day, and our year 11 trip to the WW1 Somme Battlefields in France.
If you would like to hear this report, follow this link: http://www.dovergramboys.kent.sch.uk/joomla/school_web/ and then click 'listen' about half way down.
I am the first student voice lol
Enjoy.

I was able to listen to it at work today. Great to hear how some schools are teaching about the war and those who died, and how you seem so interested in it - I hate to say it, but when I was in my teens it held little interest to me and I dropped history at school. :|
Only in recent years have I become more interested, and seeing the remembrance day parade in London last year was quite a moving experience - something worth seeing if you ever get the opportunity.

I think that it becomes more interesting when you can relate to it, for example, if you actually go out to see the battlefield, or meet a war veteran. If you have these opportunities, the whole events become a lot more real.
