I've been traveling through London Bridge for decades (slam door days) and London Bridge always felt like an afterthought from Charing Cross and Waterloo.

Nowadays, one can get on a train at Charing Cross and have everyone pile on at London Bridge. It really seems to be the main interchange.

I think all of those places are in Inner London, but that is not the same as Central London.
I like that answer. (You do know it will generate a new debate - and I will concede that The Elephant, the New Den and similar are Inner London.)

I'm going to say that not everywhere in Zone 1 is Central London, specifically the south-west corner of the zone - Kensington, Gloucester Road, Earls Court aren't. I'd say anywhere beyond Sloane Square isn't. At the other extreme, Angel isn't really what I'd think of as central.

Technically, Battersea (Power Station Station) is in Zone 1! Definitely not all of Zone 1 is central, but it's a good general rule of thumb

That was a fix, though, for the developers of the site.

What about the congestion charge zone as a proxy for central London?
Not the worst shout that we've had so far, and would then include London Bridge and a few other places on the South side of the Thames.
