Hi everyone,

After uploading my CV to a recruitment site I received the following job offer, which is clearly bogus as it's basically asking whoever applies to be a money mule.

Read more about it here: http://www.bobbear.co.uk/EFS-Capital-Group-Inc.html

Here is the email word for word, with some phrases blanked out for privacy reasons:

Your candidacy will be considered within the next 24 hours.
If you have any questions regarding our organization and this offer, please do not hesitate to contact us.
During the application process you will be assigned to one of our HR managers.

Thank you!

Note that despite being one of the 'most experienced and succesfull financial organizations' I couldn't find anything about EFS LLP other than websites saying it's a scam. I was offered a ridiculously high salary of £1320 per month which is a lot for part time work.

So, be warned about offers like this that seem too good to be true.

I had the same experience today 30/08/10. I received the same letter, the same Pay package and every other thing the same.

This is a warning we must take very seriousely.
They will pay money into ur account, this money will be from another persons details Hacked or bought from the internet. they will pay it into your account and expect you to send it back to them while they pretend to be the client. your account will be closed within days while you will be close to going to Jail.
Be careful.

In the several email domains whose "suspected" spam/junk messages come via me for confirmation, I can assure you that there are typically dozens of these each and every day.
They're all automated spam.

I won't bore you with the other popular subjects in the daily junk mail - there's more of them than job offers, but not much more.

Yep, they're a regular. I get them and I haven't registered my CV, etc. with any general recruitment sites. They're up there with the security emails from banks I've never had any dealings with telling me my account has been suspended due to suspicious activity, offers of cheap viagra and emails from the widow of some deposed African president asking me help her get her mits on millions of dollars held in some safety deposit box for a cut of the lolly. They all just go straight into the spam shredder. Let's face it, the age-old maxim is as true today as it's always been: If it sounds too good to be true it usually isn't true.

I received the same email. I decided to report it to: [email protected].
Thanks for your post it realized me how naive I am because I thought it would be a great job opportunity but now I know it wasn't true because wasn't realistic.

Too right, the poor English is a bit of a give away, plus the details of the job itself should provide a bit of a warning!

Sadly, these sorts of things do occasionally trick the desperate and the unwary.

Hello. I have recieved such e-mail few days ago. Was so happy, because I don't have a job, but my common sense told me to check the company and that someone who send it to me. Google found me this site. Thanks for revealing this scam.

I also have a question -- a week ago another strange mail came, about some woman working offshore and wanting to bring her mother to my city, to live with her (although she is still somewhere offshore, but she will be living here as well, but later on). And now that is the suspicious part - she want me to clean her mother flat for a very nice salary and she want me to have the money upfront (for 2 weeks) AND she will send me the rest of the money for her mother (but she is still abroad, in the US). I will recieve the whole sum via Western Union, deduct my salary and re-send the money to her "travel agent" (her mom's).

Is this some kind of scam as well? Because those e-mails are sent to me quite often (she is replying to me like a normal person) - they're not automatic spam for sure.. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

That's a 419 scam.

There's an FAQ about them here: http://www.419eater.com/html/419faq.htm

419eater's a site for scambaiting, which is basically wasting as much of the scammers' time and effort as possible.
