I think its time for this thread...

So far we've seen TPE talking of their West Coast services returning to 2 hourly:

On past form the first schedules will be uploaded any day now.

This thread is not for speculative discussion, its for actual news of actual changes.

And if you want to discuss when we last had a timetable change that wasn't May or December feel free to post a new, separate thread!

I have been told some improvements to journey times Norwich-Liverpool Street with some trains losing/gaining Stratford & Chelmsford calls.

Are there plans to make the last direct Liverpool to Leeds later?

Currently it is 21:05 (to Newcastle) however this often doesn’t run for the last couple of years due to engineering works which seem to be a regular occurrence

Leven and Cameron bridge are expected to open with an hourly service to Edinburgh, don't know if its via dunfermline or kirkcaldy.

Ayrshire and inverclyde services are to change as well as part of the consultation that happened.

Don't know what other scotrail services are to change in June.

Sure this has been mentioned in another thread, but why is it in June instead of May?

Hope Ayrshire and invertlied changes result in some speeding up of services, these roots have been shocking since the pandemic and fit for the future exercise

Its a fallout from the proposal to move to three timetables a year. That isnt happening but the process couldnt be recovered for this year back to May.

WMR Birmingham-Shrewsbury is supposedly going up to 2tph, with a new limited stop service going via Bescot, though I've not seen the full news article.

Would it be introduced as
SHR —> WLN —> TFC —> SFN —> CSL —> WVH —> BHM?

seems the article is pay-walled up to “see screenshot“
and archive programs don’t seem to be able to get past it,
Would imply it would be introduced with a Tame Bridge call tho.

It is. Goes via Bescot to pick up the non opened stations at Willenhall and Darlaston.

Brilliant, I couldn't view the whole article as in post #12, but that's really good to see, the Shrewsbury's are always healthily loaded.

Probably just a load of pathing time added in until the stations are opened and the schedules tweaked.
Same as the old Birmingham-Crewe via Bescot service then, always a bit of a wait to pass Crane St Jn / get into Wolverhampton as a result.

On the way back it waited at Soho East Jn I remember, usually for an XC to pass through Soho South first.

Wonder if the Ayr station hotel situation will be sorted by the June TT change. I believe Ayr C.S.D. has been Out of Use for a while because of it, so that might impact diagrams if the lines through Ayr are still closed

The most recent ScotRail consultation suggested that for the first timetable period on opening, both of the Fife Circle Edinburgh - Glenrothes with Thornton* services would run through to Leven. Thus two per hour, not one.

In the second timetable period these would both be withdrawn and replaced by a new stopping service via Kirkcaldy, cutting frequency down to hourly. Currently this is the Perth or Dundee service.

In the final state it was proposed that one of the Fife Circle services would then return.

* at present one of the two is empty stock and not carrying passengers between Cowdenbeath and Glenrothes with Thornton.

Would it be introduced as
SHR —> WLN —> TFC —> SFN —> CSL —> WVH —> BHM?
A pretty big deal for Shifnal and Codsall to at last have their 2tph back. The current Saturday service is very lacking.

From a previous thread, it looks like there'll be some retimings on Southeastern suburban services.

Are any one-a-day services set to face the axe this June (rather than just being at the consultation stage like LNER to Glasgow and Stirling)?

Those two timetables were defined as "Interim Timetable A" and "Interim Timetable B", with the consultation asking which should be implemented before timetable planned for 2025. So the line will either open with the former (2tph both via Dunfermline) or the latter (1tph via Kirkcaldy) before the proposed 2025 timetable.

Have the Ayrshire services not already been recast at the last timetable change, going back essentially to the pre-6 trains per hour plan, with the Ayr trains no longer calling at all stations between Johnstone and Kilwinning and the Largs/Ardrossan trains picking up those stops instead? But Inverclyde does have major changes coming!

It was silly for them to make the Gourock services 2tph all stoppers. Looking forward to the new Inverclyde TT!
