For FGW it is similar, except unlike at Birmingham New Street, some companies can actually spell dIspatch ;)

indeedy lol! It'll probably have a different job title by the time I've completed training lol.

The dispatchers at Brum New St. i notice have to wear them orange hi-vis 'Network Rail' Train Dispatch now

Yes, Dispatch at New Street used to be Central Trains but it's changed with the franchise change to be Network Rail. I suppose it's less companies now given customer care is CrossCountry and the ticket office is West Coast (it's always been that way but the staff were all in Virgin uniforms so looked the same!)
