Would be nice if the electric service, when running, were extended down to Oxford covering the local stations...Give an opportunity for a station in the Harbury/Bishop's Itchington area long term as well.

Before anyone says anything, I know it won't happen.

Well maybe it would be possible if some of the freight that goes that way currently, went via the new electric spine instead...

£11.3million? Isn't that rather expensive? I mean I'm guessing it's going to be a fairly small affair, similar to Warwick's.

The tracks already exist and I'd be surprised if they don't own the land. How come it's going to cost so much?

Only one track; the station needs a passing loop and second platform at the very least.

They don't own the land where the station buildings and car park would be; that's currently the site of a timber yard (thankfully whose owners agreed quite a long time ago to sell up whenever the station plans got off the ground).

This artists impression has been floating around for a good six months. It was published again today (link) but has been used by the BBC and Coventry Telegraph from as far back as May.

Looks like it was done in an early version of Google SketchUp.

Is the station site not on the present loop then?

Don't get your hopes up, all that is planned at the minute for the shuttle is a single platform, no extra track (apart from the crossover at Leamington).
