I've been looking at routes with public transport to go plane spotting at Lakenheath. There's a station not far away but can't find times or tickets.

Anyone know why?

Thanks

No services at all during the week, a train each way on Saturdays and a handful on Sundays.

Lakenheath station exists for bird spotting, not planes. ;)

Try looking on a Sunday.

Lakenheath station only has a limited weekend service, nothing at all during the week.

Brandon has a proper service and is about the same distance from RAF Lakenheath as Lakenheath station, there may even be buses from Brandon to the base.

I assume you do have some sort of idea if anything is flying from Lakenheath or Mildenhall, it would suck to make the journey and find the USAF were having a quiet day.

If you travel to Brandon Coach Services provide an hourly service (200/201) towards Mildenhall which goes past RAF Lakenheath.

according to this there's usually little flying at Lakenheath at weekends. So yes, you'll need to go to Brandon.

The Breckland line has the last used stations in Cambridgeshire (Shippea Hill), Suffolk (Lakenheath) and Norfolk (Spooner Row). There is no service that calls at all three.
