Does anyone have a list of all of the short platforms on the London Underground and which carriages and or doors will not open at these stations? Many thanks.

Front or rear doors depending on direction of travel - some of these are one set of doors, some are two sets of doors. Never really paid attention to how many at each...

Baker Street ( Circle )
Paddington Praed Street
Bayswater
Notting Hill Gate

I think there's one or two on the Wimbledon branch as well?

I seem to remember that it is something like the first 2 front and rear sets of doors at Paddington, Bayswater and Notting Hill gate. As for the Wimbledon branch, off the top of my head (and applicable to S7 stock only)

West Brompton (front door)
Parsons Green (rear door)
Putney Bridge (front door although this might have been removed since?)

Is the clockwise Baker Street platform the only one on the network where a whole carriage doesn't fit on the platform?

Then there is Harrow S/B and Northwood northbound where the platform is long enough but the signalling necessitates stopping a car through the platform in order to be able to see the shunt signal when going into the sidings.

Similarly to Pic trains reversing east to west at Kings +, the trains have to stop in the tunnel with the east end double doors and a single leaf of the next double doors cut out, this is to ensure the T/Op can see the signal and monitors from the west end cab.

Many thanks for all the info. Can i ask how does SDO work on the London Underground? Is it all done automatically or does the driver have to manually select which coaches and doors to open and not open?

On S Stock it is automatic.
D Stock is manual, can only keep first 2 and rear 2 closed.
C Stock it was manual, could only keep front 3 closed.

I took a train last morning from King's Cross and I saw that sign and I was wondering at this thread.

There are no longer any A Stock trains in passenger service, so that sign is obsolete. The replacement trains calling at those stations do still have restrictions though, as detailed further up.

Telling drivers to operate a switch in the cab to prevent the rear set of doors opening at the next two stations, with S stock drivers don't need to do anything to cut out doors, it happens automatically.

I know very well that. I just posted because it was a discussion about C/D stock manually cutting doors and seems like it was same on A stock.

Gunnersbury southbound the front doors don't open on S stock. I think its to do with the gap between the train and platform as the platform is the other side of the door but they don't open the door.

That is mentioned in my list of 14 January.
Gunnersbury is either East or Westbound - but technically Up or Down

Out of interest i have always wondered why are there some short platform stations where the front doors (rather than the rear doors) do not open? I know normally (at least on National Rail services) it is only the rear door(s) that do not open but the front door(s) will always be opened on short platforms. Is there a reason for the front doors (rather than the rear doors) not opening at certain stations on London Underground (on S stock and on 1995 stock)?

In short, signal spacing.
