Does anyone know the diagram, departure time or what days this Newcastle train will be running yet?

Are the Class 91s still geared for 140mph operation? If so I wonder whether regearing for 125mph would make enough difference to allow 2+8 formations by improving the acceleration enough. (I presume it's acceleration to match the Azumas that's the key factor here given both types do 125mph in service)
No, the 91s have always been geared for 160 mph max. Regearing might have been considered many years ago during their HGR at Doncaster, but in those days the East Coast was almost solid 91s and HSTs which shared similar acceleration profiles. They won't spend that kind of money this late in their careers.

14:30 off London Kings Cross.
1430 is an Edinburgh fast, so that can't be right?

I can't find the website that had the 2025 timetables during the consolation. Anyone know the link for it please? Wondering what the stops and return working will be too.
Should be within this thread, but you may need to run some through the Wayback Machine to actually view the timetables:

https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...ay-2022-east-coast-mainline-timetable.218555/
Mod Note: It appears that there are currently four separate consultations underway between CrossCountry, LNER, Transpennine Express, Northern and Great Northern/Thameslink relating to the May 2022 timetable change and their ECML services. Links to all four are below and some documents have been attached for posterity (but note not all available documents have been attached). For the time being we would ask that members use this thread for their thoughts and comments on the various consultations as there is clearly going to be overlap due the winners and losers. We may split out some posts if a significant sub-discussion develops and would ask members to use the report function if they spot one to help us manage what could be quite a lengthy and complicated thread.

Seems to concur that 14:30 is still an Edinburgh fast in the Dec 2025 timetable. Maybe it'll change idk

EDIT: Not page 3, document 3 out of the 59 in the folder. Page 13.

1433 would be the Newcastle stopper. Calls at Stevenage, Grantham, York, Northallerton, Darlington, Durham and Newcastle unless it’s changed since the consultation.

Thank you for that link.

I don't think it could change, as the Newcastle semi-fast has to run in the "wake" of the Edinburgh fast and I think the idea is an even half-hourly semi-fast service to Newcastle, albeit with one extending to Edinburgh (the XX:03)

Won't give you a lot. You would be better improving speeds lower down the range. Improve your minimum speeds rather than your maximum speeds.

I have had a 91 on load 7 before and I must admit the acceleration was fairly astonishing. This was mainly due to it being load 7 Mk 3s with a screaming valenta at the other end! The hybrid formations were booked load 9, but one set had had a couple of demic vehicles removed.

91127 and a 7-car formation are shunting around York this morning between different platforms - so far done P5 and 10, still got 11, 7 and 9 to do before heading back to Neville Hill via Doncaster at 1:30-ish
