Is it definitely 91130? As I remember that being out in service only about a week ago!91101 will be in Intercity colours when it is released from Wabtec, where it currently is.
91130 is also now Intercity colours, and was due to be released from Wabtec on today with a full liveried set, but wasn’t.
Just what I got told, although now seen a pic of 91101 in Wabtec on a full liveried set, loco in intercity colours still with name plate attached. Is it definitely 91130? As I remember that being out in service only about a week ago!
Sorry if it came across as I didn’t believe you, I was just more surprised how quickly they are getting these repaints done!Just what I got told, although now seen a pic of 91101 in Wabtec on a full liveried set, loco in intercity colours still with name plate attached.
LNER are referring to it as Intercity, they now call the fleet Intercity 225, so for the purpose of this thread we shall also call it Intercity Livery. They're not intercity repaints, only 91 119 is in intercity. It's a new LNER livery that resembles inter City if you ignore the different colours and door treatments

"Intercity" alone is misleading. "LNER Intercity" is a passable compromise.LNER are referring to it as Intercity, they now call the fleet Intercity 225, so for the purpose of this thread we shall also call it Intercity Livery.
Quite. It would potentially be different were it not for the fact LNER actually have an example of a unit in genuine InterCity (91119) making use of the term for a completely different livery especially confusing."Intercity" alone is misleading. "LNER Intercity" is a passable compromise.
I mean, I'm enough of a pedant to say that I wouldn't accept it being referred to as "Intercity" even if 91119 hadn't ever been dressed-up, but the fact that it was is certainly extra ammunitionQuite. if allowed would you be able to share the pic of 91101 please?Just what I got told, although now seen a pic of 91101 in Wabtec on a full liveried set, loco in intercity colours still with name plate attached.

I quite like the look, shame that it's no longer a celebrity!
Not happening, was planned to start a week ago with crew training trips, all cancelled for foreseeable future.Heard some rumours about staff being retrained on 91s so they can go to Newcastle and have just seen some comments on 225 group Facebook that this has now been cancelled, can anybody confirm this?

Nothing to say it won’t happen in the future but the idea isn’t being progressed at present. No

As it’s the railway, things may change, but currently no plans.
Let’s say cost is the issue, when someone saw that all Newcastle drivers and TMs would need to released for training, a stop was soon put on it!Nothing to say it won’t happen in the future but the idea isn’t being progressed at present.
It was supposed to be in conjunction with the May 2023 major timetable change so I wonder if the timetable recast has been deferred again.
I can’t elaborate too much on this but I understand that work is ongoing behind the scenes on the political side of things regarding this issue.Let’s say cost is the issue, when someone saw that all Newcastle drivers and TMs would need to released for training, a stop was soon put on it!
why would politicians be involved? Surely as long as they get trains (Azuma or Mk4) it shouldn’t bother them?I can’t elaborate too much on this but I understand that work is ongoing behind the scenes on the political side of things regarding this issue.
Let’s just say that many of the local politicians are as unhappy about this as the enthusiasts are.
The issue isn’t the type of train but the capacity of it. There’s already one Newcastle service every Sunday that uses a solo 5 car 80x when there’s a Mark 4 set spare at Ferme Park the entire time, and there’s a very good chance that this will become a regular occurrence 7 days a week in May 2023 without anything in place to allow Mark 4 sets to work to Newcastle.why would politicians be involved? Surely as long as they get trains (Azuma or Mk4) it shouldn’t bother them?
Surely it comes down to whether it’s a 5 or 9 carriage Azuma? The Intercity Express Programme has form. I think only one of Monday’s Swansea GWR services was longer than 5 carriages.why would politicians be involved? Surely as long as they get trains (Azuma or Mk4) it shouldn’t bother them?
Still booked to be a 91I'm hoping that the Mon-Fri 08.33 from London King's Cross to Leeds is still 91 hauled. This is going to be a useful train for me next month!
