If anyone has any gen for 90 workings tomorrow (Wednesday) I would be most grateful. Ideally, the 10:08 KX - Newark will produce.

Good morning all. Does anyone know if there are any 90s out today? I covered the 09:16 off Leeds, but no joy. Thanks!

I'm now on 1A22 being shoved by 90029. Red pen time! How may decades has that taken me?

Yesterday, I passed the class 90 at a stand near New Southgate on 1D04 0735 London Kings Cross to Leeds. Northbound trains were being worked past it on the down slow. Real Time Trains shows the train to have terminated at Alexandra Palace. It is not clear what happened to the set after that point. RTT suggests loco failure, but their 'reason' codes are not always accurate...

"1D04 07:35 London Kings Cross to Leeds due 09:46 has been delayed between Stevenage and Grantham and is now 60 minutes late.

This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires earlier today."

The Class 90 was reported to be on Bounds Green this morning.

90019 had a complete loss of power. Was dragged back to Bounds Green.

90019 and 90034 (in purple!) were out today. Sadly I was unable to bash either, as I've been prioritising ticking off HST power cars (they're more important to me personally - my rationale is that I'm unlikely to be able to get every 90 but it's quite feasible I'll get every non-NMT power car...).

90019 not doing the 0735 Kings Cross to Leeds and 1015 back as the 90 has a speedo fault

Was just wondering, how is it permitted for a class 90 to work a Kings Cross to Leeds or Newcastle when it can't achieve the timings of the diagram due to max 110mph?

Does it fail it's performance every time due to not being able to get up to 125mph.

Would it not be best remaining on Kings Cross to Newark only?

Tends to stick to the Leeds and Newark trains and seems to stick with the timings well. The Newark’s are all stops so it’s not constant lower speed running and the Leeds must have a bit of slack time to absorb the slower running. They can only stick on trains that have a Kings Cross based driver as they are the only ones who sign them so are limited to what there and back trains they can do

Oh right. Being allowed to run at 110mph one would have thought would open up all sorts of options. As discussed in another thread recently, the possibility to run some sort of semi-fast stopper all town stations Doncaster or York. It would also mean a 110mph 387 could achieve the timings as well in the future, if further stock were ever needed.
