Wonder whether they will 'borrow' the cab off one of their other power cars to speed it up?!
Possible, but then they would have to transfer the modifications over to any replacement cab (think roof mounted light & light cluster set up). In part, thanks to those additions, I can see it taking a little bit longer than a straight swap over. It'll also depend on if the damage has been confined to the 'sacrificial' nose area or if any of the subframe has been damaged as well - some cabs are never the same, eg 43190 after Maidenhead (warped sub frame).

In the Australian derivative the "nose" ahead of the cab can be replaced without needing to swap the entire cab - pity BREL didn't have the idea themselves!

Amtrak made the same discovery with the GE P42DC locos, particularly so with American vehicle drivers’ liking for running level crossings. Most if not all of the P42s have been modified with bolt on noses to make repair easier.

Their HSTs (43058 and 43059) have been repainted into the new Rail Charter Services livery, does anyone know if the ex-Anglia Mark 4s are being repainted too?

'Blue Pullman' liveried HST power cars 43 046 and 43 055 passed through Hebden Bridge earlier today, running light (coupled back-to-back) from Neville Hill Depot to Crewe. Does anyone know what work had been carried out on them at NL?....perhaps collision damage repairs using the nose ends from withdrawn LNER or MML units?

Not sure if it is a typo but LSL haven't procured any Mk4s - at least not yet. They have a number of ex GA Mk3 LHCS which formerly operated Norwich-Liverpool Street route with class 90s. A number of these have been repainted INTERCITY swallow livery along with a DVT or two.

The Rail Charter Services vehicles are five HST trailers debuting on the Staycation Express this year.

Thanks, yes that was a typo, I always think the Driving Van Trailers are always Mark 4 when some are Mark 3.

43046 and 43055 (Pullman) have been widely photographed today with yellow front ends. Does anyone know why this is now a requirement? (https://flic.kr/p/2mtLymB)
That looks ridiculous  Looks like the sort of thing you'd do for a short term fix to something, a bit like the Class 222 in the new EMR livery but with a door in the old EMT livery I saw a photo of the other day

I actually think it looks better, as it breaks up the monotony of the ‘blue-tac blue’, though the GC style yellow panel would have been better. Of course, whatever the reason it is oddly prototypical too, the original Met Cam BP also receiving a small yellow warning panels.

Maybe someone swapped it over for a bit of a laugh :D
It clearly isn't a swap over as the yellow area is larger than the coupling hatch.

I rather suspect that someone has realised they've messed up with the new lights and that they aren't in fact compliant with the new standard - so they need a yellow panel.

Indeed. I must say I was surprised not to see both headlights illuminated as per the TSI.

Not only that, but if you look closely at the Lamp Bracket, you can still see the inside of it is Blue. So it's definitely the original 'face' modified.

I wonder if the similarly modified Rail Adventure Power Cars may have to receive a similar treatment - although they at least had much newer lights than the LSL fleet does.

The first two RailAdventure power cars have gone to Germany, where they don't get into a histrionic flap about yellow ends! So we may have to wait a bit to find out. The two Pullman power cars actually got replacement lights in the existing housings - look at a photo of them and the lights are much brighter than the ones previously carried.

Funnily enough, the Pullman power cars do satisfy the German rules as-is with all that white paint around the windscreen :p

One of the Midland Pullman TF’s has also received a minor livery alteration this morning, courtesy of some of the locals of Pengam Sidings.
Interesting, these are well lit and overlooked by flats, my daughter used to live in one. Not a usual graffiti hotspot.

43049 has been painted into Intercity Swallow at Neville Hill and unveiled today. By the looks of things it is still named 'Neville Hill'.

Renamed. The original plates were removed before it left NL after being off-leased by EMR.

EE Type 4 nirvana this morning at Chester.
D213 and D345 doubled up, on test from Crewe, looking very smart in their new original BR livery.
D345 was the lead loco, and ran round to head the pair back to Crewe.
There was another test run this afternoon.
The pair are due to work Preston-Plymouth and back on Sat 30th October.
Class 230 and 197 ECS also working through Chester around the same time.

37688 has gone to Barrow Hill this morning. Does anyone if it's bringing anything back with it this afternoon?

Intercity Swallow 43049 looks to be making its way back to Crewe today, just noted passed Ash Bridge Junction running solo under its own power.
