Does anyone know what cab updates have been done to the peak? I'm expecting similar work as what was fitted to Andania (TPWS4, DRA etc.)

Do heritage locos get fitted with DRA? The only that I’m aware of are ex-DRS 37s.

I believe a couple of LSL locos have them fitted. I know for definite Andania has one, and I think some or all of the 47s.

Here's Andania's cab for context. DRA at the top, above the TPWS MK4 unit :) :

Somewhere, not in London
The HF person in me says the labelling isn't really up to spec and the sizes of the lamps aren't consistent.

We also have yet another appearance of the completely ineffective lock wire on the DRA. Oh how we love them on the railway.

It will be fitted with TPWS4 as that is the latest version of TPWS and I believe DRA is also a requirement these days. Of course OTMR and GSM-R will also have been fitted as required for main line use

Nicce. Will be interesting to eventually see how that'll have been implemented within the Peak

Of course, the HF aspects of ’modernising’ a heritage cab only become a problem when somebody else is paying for it.

Maybe I’m being dim, but could someone clarify what HF stands for in this context, please?
Human Factors. In this instance, it’s the consideration of how an operator interfaces with the train controls.

There are a couple of new tours up for booking 7th September Crewe to Cardiff via HOW back via lickey 2 x 37/4 for the frankly amazing price of £80 standard and the 47/7 Crewe to Edinburgh via lanark and the sub etc, next day tweedbank North Berwick, leven and the line through Alloa, again mega bargain £165 for a two day tour unbelievable price but accommodation in Edinburgh is the issue leave Edinburgh Sunday morning at 0840, not early but too early to get there from Glasgow on a Sunday. I stayed at Edinburgh premier inn the other day before the 57 tour and it was £69 the Saturday night for this is £178 wow

Wow that is fantastic value! Thanks for the heads up, may indeed put my name down for this. One to be quick on though, I'll safely expect a sell-out very quickly

Yes, excellent prices, decent itineraries with a short set, bound to fill. I've booked on the Heart of Wales one now :) It's also great to see them offering more tours with the Intercity brand.

If it's due to leave Barrow Hill by the end of this month then there's still four weeks before that's due to happen. What further update do you need?
