the failure today was a minor snagging fault to do with the brake handle. Caused cancellations but a quick swap over and back to normal service. Timings consistantly better than a 150 overall.

Exactly. The 172s are doing well (touchwood!) and I have also seen them all on time and no problem at all. A perfect replacement for the 150s.

The was a 172 to Dorridge with customers yesterday I was told.

07.19 from Birmingham Snow Hill to Dorridge and that makes the 07.56 back.

(this diagram leads into the 08.55 from Stourbridge to Stratford)

That's booked as 5 car with the 2 car set removed at Snow Hill at 9 25, certainly the 17 20 BSH to SBJ was a 3 car 172 (same diagram) so what did it work with at the start of the day?

It seem to that some members are passing personal insults to others for saying what they see and what happens.

It is a forum to help enthusiasts by the enthusiasts and not to aim coments to other members. Yes a lot of rubbish is spoken about in some threads, but it is not the place to single members out for making comments on what they see.

regards to all

I keep on thinking they should have (green) underframe boxes and green obstacle deflectors...
When I look at a LM 172/3 photo, I think there's something missing...

Should be 4 possibly 5 out from tomorrow plus saturday diagrams from next Sat. Maybe a 2 car out as somebody let 150102 go to FGW last weekend(not supposed to have gone until 27/09) so short of units.

Up to 6 sets required at Worcs for training during middle part of week as they are trying to get last 20 or so Drivers passed out by early/mid October.

10 sets supposed to be in service from Oct 3rd.

Yes, now my train in the morning is going to be 172 operated (07:46 DTW - WOF 07:56). It will be interesting to see if it keeps time as this service never is on time when operated by a 150.

due to a signal fault at Hartlebury ? and trespassers on the line between
Jewellery Quarter and hawthorns it was a little hectic today.

172 342+216 were also together on the stratford training run.

London Midland blurb said:
The benefits include 2+2 seating, air conditioning, more leg room, spacious and bright interior with London Midland branding and open vestibules
Can anyone explain to me how London Midland branding is a benefit?
