Not unusual at all. I was an Overground driver until August. They started using 10a and 11 a while back. I signed them off during the pandemic and drove in there on a few occasions.

Looking at RTT for today there are 3 trains shown into pfm 10A and even one into pfm 10. Next Wednesday for example there are 6 trains shown into platform 11, nothing in 10A. Arrivals don’t matter but these workings do confuse passengers looking for the departures.

Not sure Platform 10 is accessible from the North London Line only to it, looking at the Quail Map, unless you know different. RTT also shows no corresponding departures from Platform 10.

No, they definitely wouldn't have gone into platform 10, must be a RTT glitch.

This is one of the reasons they really need better departure boards at Stratford. The fixed signage doesn't allow for flexibility like this.

Yes it shows two arrivals in pfm 10, which is not possible from the NLL, so must be a glitch.

Is there an operational reason why these particular services are routed into 10A/11? I can't quite work out from RTT what the reason is.

I did think I saw a sign in the Pl 1/2 area about Overground sometimes using other platforms when I was at Stratford last week but I was in a rush to make my connection so couldn't stop and look.

I think it was part of the 10 trains per hour in the peak change, somewhere to go if there's any disruption. Kept a few to stay competent & for trainees I guess. It's confusing for customers & no reachable facilities for drivers during turnaround. No CSDE tags set up for 378s either on 10A, I presume they're they exist and are set up for GA.

Stratford 10A and 11 is part of ARL's training and emergency strategy and has been right back to Silverlink days and probably before.

When we arrived at 10A the driver did have to do the door override because of no CSDE. I wasn’t expecting to go into this platform as platform 2 was empty and would be so for 15 minutes at least as that was the timed service gap after this one. Certainly fun to be on the outside tracks leading up to Stratford
