Can I travel from London to Cheltenham on Chiltern from Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street then walk to New Street on an off peak any permitted ticket? I fancy a trip on the loco hauled chiltern set tomorrow.

Gut instinct says no, but I'll do a Routeing Guide check.

Not surprisingly, my instinct was correct: London - Birmingham - Cheltenham is 37.5 miles longer than the direct route; and as both are routeing points a fares check isn't needed. Valid routes are on maps BL, LG, WX+BL & WX+LG, none of which feature London - Birmingham.

Will it be a single or a return journey?
