London Underground stock requests

Based off the numbers quoted I would assume this to be the London Underground Track Recording Train, comprised of two 1960 stock Driving Motors (L132+L133) and a 1973 stock Trailer car (TRC666, the actual Track Recording Vehicle).

Thanks would have loved to have photographed them myself. Once again my appreciation for you help

96017 + 96078 has not worked since May 6th. It is currently at Neasden Depot rather than at Stratford Market Depot. Of those requested by @drglgray Bakerloo 3532 is stopped for RVAR modifications and has a return date later in the summer, but probably best not make too many plans to see 11035 + 11036 or 96126 this year...
Thanks will watch the forum to see any updates.

I would not start planning your trip just yet. 91331, 91263, 91155 and 91111 are all part of the CLIP programme. They form the the two 'prototype' trains, 91111 and 91263 are the prototype for the AC traction component and 91331 and 91155 are the prototype for the Data Transmission System component. These prototypes tested these elements separately, with the third CLIP train combining the two elements (91001 and 91201) and it is this third train that will be first into service, now planned for later this year. The first two will need to have further work, to bring them up to the fully completed state. In short, it will be some way into 2024 before any of these four are in service.

91341 and 91337 are both very long termed stopped (from 2016 and 2018 respectively). Before the pandemic, these were to be returned to service in order to keep the timetabled service at the previous level by operating the Hainault to Woodford service as a four car shuttle. Work on these stopped at the start of the pandemic and this made the four car plan unviable for the moment and it is not likely to be possible until the CLIP project completes. I suspect these units will be a long way down the list of units to receive CLIP treatment.

Many thanks for your very informative reply, so not planning a trip this year! Regards Peter

Out of interest I just went to Ealing Broadway on the Central Line and to my surprise 21549/550 was sat in the platform working a District service. This has been long-term out of use and was 1 of my last 4 S7 pairs. Not sure what it's had done to it but it didn't look like it had just come out of the works, as mucky as any other set currently in use

Apart from the four in the CLIP programme (91111, 91155, 91263 and 91331), and the two very long time stopped (91337 and 91341), there are another six on the Central Line which I haven't seen, or noticed on intertube recently. They are 91001, 91075, 91093 ,91101, 91109 and 91201. Are any of them active, or likely to be so soon?

91001 91201 is part of the first CLIP train to return to the Central Line and is undergoing testing upon the Line as an 8-car.
There are 4 8-car trains at Acton in CLIP works

Rather a late enquiry, but would anyone know which LT battery locos were on the stretch of Bakerloo Line in the engineering works between Queen's Park and Willesden on 16th Aug, please?

That's good to know. Thanks!

Dealing with those not included in other recent updates:
91075 stopped since August 2022 with some components donated to other units
91093 is also now at Acton Works for CLIP modifications
91101 stopped since April 2022 with some components donated to other units
91109 is also now at Acton Works for CLIP modifications

I'm not sure how long they've been swapped around but today I noted 4x Northern Line sets that are not running in their usual pairings:

51513+51678
51514+51677
51518+51585
51519+51584

Cheers, Chris

Hi Everyone
Does anyone know what Northern line set 51630 is paired with.
Haven't seen it allocated to anything for a few days on

Has anyone seen this lately.

I only need 51629 which is paired with 628 and 51630 which is proving elusive!

Thanks in advance for any replies.

91337 was visible from Hainault station on the 20th, and I doubt if it's moved since. If you want to see vehicle 92337, you'll need to travel past the depot.

Behind 91337 are 91075 and 91101, which, according to post #585, are both parts donors.

There are ten Central Line B+C and B+D pairs which I haven't seen during the last fifteen months.

I am fairly sure that four are part of CLIP i.e. 92012, 92142, 92222 and 92446.

The other six are 92026, 92150, 92206, 92216, 92218 and 92402. Can someone please tell me whether they part of CLIP, long-term out of service, or running around avoiding me!

Many thanks.

Hiya

I also need 92446 but also 92054 on the Central Line. Have these escaped CLIP programme now? Will they come back with their original partners or do we expect there to be some shuffling around?

I also need S7 set 21487-21488, the last post I saw for it was back in 2022:

21463/464, 21487/488 and 21549/550 are all stopped expected back at the end of the year.

with no indication of which year!

92054 is part of the CLIP set (along with 91001, 92176 and 91201) which had a day in service recently, running between Hainault and Woodford. I believe it's currently receiving a few tweaks.

As noted above 92054 is running occasionally and may have a couple more runs in December - I don't have firm dates I'm afraid. 92446 is in the CLIP programme at Acton Works, but was one of the two partially modified prototype trains (where 92054 and its train had the full 'finalised' modifications (apart from the remaining cosmetic works and any software updates that follow from testing). The two prototype trains will have to have the full set of modifications before being returned to service, so this unit won't be back in service until the second half of 2024.

21487/88 has been stopped at Upminster since March 2020 and has parts removed for other trains. The return date shown is the end of the month, but this is very likely to be 'nominal' as it probably isn't a priority for return!

The last record of 51630 working in the data is on Tuesday 28th November 2023, and shows it working train 131 and stabling after the morning peak. I don't have any information on why this is stopped I'm afraid. However looking further to identify the unit working with 51630 has thrown up an oddity. It is shown working a single trip of train 131 SB on both 23rd and 28th November, but on the trips either side of the single trip shown in the data are formed of another pair entirely, suggesting that this report of 51630 might not be correct, especially given the same pair appear in both trips before and after on both days. Trains do get reformed, so a different train takes on the same working number, however it is very unusual to be reformed back to the original working - leading me to be a bit suspicious of the data I'm seeing...

Looking into this further, the data shows it was last in daily use in October 2023, up to 20th October when it ended the day on train 70 paired with 51720, but there are clearly some glitches, with spurious unit identification concerning this unit on a couple of occasions after then.

Not a request but according to Intertube, Jubilee pair 96111 + 96112 were out working today. These have been out of use for quite some time and not been noted working (to my knowledge) since October 2022. Typical as 96111 is one of my last three and I travelled back from London to North Lincs this afternoon

It seems to have re-entered service from Monday Evening and has worked each day this week. Train 301 so far today...

This afternoon I noticed yellow battery loco 30 outside in the grounds of Millennium Site Services, Derby. I know the firm does work on rolling stock from time to time but out of (my) curiosity does anyone know if this LU engineers loco is retired or up here for a refurb please?
