Does anyone know the longest distance CDR? I was surprised to see one Welwyn Garden City to Hereford --- a 4:30 journey each way making it tough (on any wives dragged along at least) to return the same day!
Yes, that must be the furthest, as these are the furthest points in the former Network South East (NSE) area, now known simply as the "Network Area". The distance is around 270-280 miles, depending on the exact route taken.Exeter - Kings Lynn ??
Of course it forces you via Honiton; as you say it's an Ex-NSE area ticket (you'd be able to get the Network Railcard discount on it at appropriate times) and the FGWs route to London from Exeter go outside that area. as for FCC pricing, why is that surprising? How is it decided on such a journey which of the two operators will price the ticket?Yes, that must be the furthest, as these are the furthest points in the former Network South East (NSE) area, now known simply as the "Network Area". This CDR is awful value, at £92.80 and forces you to travel via Honiton (ie, the slow SWT route). It is, curiously, priced by FCC. I suspect (and hope) none of these tickets are ever sold, as they are a rip-off.
