Hi all, most drivers I know live within about 45 mins to an hour of the depot (not in a big city), and either live along the line of route or drive in by car. There's a few people who live what seems like ages away, around 50 or 60 miles each way by car, but regularly drive in and don't seem bothered.
What are some of the longest commutes you've heard of for shift working railway staff?
Some of the central London TOC depots must have people coming in from some very far flung provinces I'd expect.
