How much do they charge on the X99 does anyone know? Quite a significant portion of the cruise passengers seemed to have got wise to the fact they can just get the 43 for £2.20, which was causing a few issues with late running on the 43 on Sunday.
A day ticket on X99 is £12.50 per adult and £6.25 for a child. Singles are £7/£3.50.How much do they charge on the X99 does anyone know? Perhaps Lothian receives a contribution from the cruise companies who otherwise might have to organise a fleet of transfer coaches at their own expense. All things considered, I don't think that's actually bad value for money, although given how stretched the double deck fleet and possible driver resources are these days is operating such a service potentially at the expense of city services? A good idea?
I doubt it. The companies want to flog expensive tours e.g. Princess Cruises advertise shore excursions from South Queensferry including 'Edinburgh on your own', for which you get a coach transfer to and from the city and a map, all for a very reasonable $109.95.Perhaps Lothian receives a contribution from the cruise companies who otherwise might have to organise a fleet of transfer coaches at their own expense.
Lothian certainly wouldn’t be running these services if they weren’t making money from them. The majority of these passengers also buy tickets for Edinburgh Tours whose ticket sellers are at the pier. All things considered, I don't think that's actually bad value for money, although given how stretched the double deck fleet and possible driver resources are these days is operating such a service potentially at the expense of city services? It’s about the only place a rack of that size can fit to be honest. Removing either of the wheelchair spaces would cause uproar. For me they should have taken out the seat by the doors and put a longer rack over the front wheel. No doubt this wasn’t done over fears it obscures the drivers view.Seen 602, the luggage rack unlike what was posted earlier, is behind the wheelchair space replacing the first row of nearside seats. looks rather out of place if you ask me
There seems to be one that comes off a 31(?), does a peak time run from Heriot-Watt to bristo square, then moves onto to something elseSaw a 400XLB on the 45 route yesterday.
A bit unusual.
Starts as a 45 from elm row then ends as x47. No my linked to 31There seems to be one that comes off a 31(?), does a peak time run from Heriot-Watt to bristo square, then moves onto to something else
It was going to Bristo Square. There seems to be one that comes off a 31(?), does a peak time run from Heriot-Watt to bristo square, then moves onto to something else
Maybe they thought it would be too much effort for passengers to lift heavy luggage up over the wheel height and they’d prefer slinging them on at floor level. It’s about the only place a rack of that size can fit to be honest. Possibly, but ultimately it’s about using the space efficiently as well.Maybe they thought it would be too much effort for passengers to lift heavy luggage up over the wheel height and they’d prefer slinging them on at floor level.
There can also be safety implications in the way that passengers on a moving vehicle are apt to handle, position and leave heavy luggage particularly where height off the floor is a feature.Maybe they thought it would be too much effort for passengers to lift heavy luggage up over the wheel height and they’d prefer slinging them on at floor level.
I would question if anyone should be putting luggage in a rack of any moving vehicle, irrespective of location. The fact the vehicle is moving would be enough of a safety problem in itself. There can also be safety implications in the way that passengers on a moving vehicle are apt to handle, position and leave heavy luggage particularly where height off the floor is a feature.
Bus Driver of the Year ceremony in order to select drivers who are on their way to Blackpool. Is there something happening at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston today? There's about a dozen Lothian double deckers there just now plus a couple of the training buses.
They where refurbished years ago to Lothian Motorcoach moquette when they where in the Coach fleetDoes anyone know why the 3 lothian country 8xx buses (843, 844, and 850) have black seats?
