An interesting conversation that came up recently, and nobody could be certain of the answer. Only one place to go to settle it!
Tickets for cross London journeys, bearing the 'Maltese Cross'. My understanding has always been that they're simply encoded 'zone U1', and would theoretically permit any journey within the zone (or indeed which started and ended within the zone)? I'm not aware of any LUL system of permitting only certain termini? It was suggested that a passenger venturing off route during their transfer would encounter barrier issues, but I would expect their ticket to allow them through unhindered; not withstanding staff intervention of course.
Can anyone clarify this little debate!
