They may have won a Council contract.I noticed today a registration for service 109 in East Lothian. Well out of their operation area. A lot of lost milage or a new outstation.

Could be an error? Looking in that notice it says it covers Falkirk District Council and it also has a previous registration within the Falkirk area against that number (F2). I wonder if it is actually a Prentice registration as it fits their numbering and normal operational area. There is also a 109 showing up here:I noticed today a registration for service 109 in East Lothian. Well out of their operation area. A lot of lost milage or a new outstation.
The change for the McGills registration also says "Revised timetable to better align with 312 public holiday operation". Most certainly an error.Could be an error? East Lothian contract? I thought this was a Prentice route.I noticed today a registration for service 109 in East Lothian. Well out of their operation area. A lot of lost milage or a new outstation.
PM0000003/707 is for the F2 service in Falkirk, so looks like a few gremlins within the Traffic Area Office system, now that it’s being done from Leeds!!I noticed today a registration for service 109 in East Lothian. Well out of their operation area. A lot of lost milage or a new outstation.
Primarily because a recent update from the app provider means that cancelled journeys now show up when you’re searching for live times at your bus stop, but the fact that there are a lot fewer now is also relevant.I see they are now just doing what First Scotland do and only show cancellations on the app. The reason given was because they are vastly reduced.
The likely reason being that schools are on holiday resulting in less buses and duties.Primarily because a recent update from the app provider means that cancelled journeys now show up when you’re searching for live times at your bus stop, but the fact that there are a lot fewer now is also relevant.
Being done from Leeds? Didnt know that. Why would that happen. Is it not a devolved thing? They have not made that public nowledge!!!!!!PM0000003/707 is for the F2 service in Falkirk, so looks like a few gremlins within the Traffic Area Office system, now that it’s being done from Leeds!!
They closed all the local area offices quite a number of years ago and centralised everything at Leeds. Edinburgh was the only local office they kept open, but a long serving employee recently left and they seem to have decided to move the Scottish area office to Leeds too.Being done from Leeds? Didnt know that. Why would that happen. Is it not a devolved thing? They have not made that public nowledge!!!!!!

Stirling Sightseer coming soon
Open top bus tour arrives for summer 2024
We’re getting prepared to bring you a bright new way to experience all the incredible attractions of the historic city of Stirling.
This hop-on, hop-off tour will connect all the famous sights of our great city including Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, and plenty more besides, with entertaining commentary along the way.
More details coming soon!
The publicity shows an open top Gemini.Does anyone have any heads-up on what vehicle(s) the forthcoming Stirling Sightseer will be using?
Which there are none spare of as they are all at Bright Bus.The publicity shows an open top Gemini.
8951 has been repainted into orange, so it may be used for the Stirling Sightseer. Either that or one of the open top E400s.Does anyone have any heads-up on what vehicle(s) the forthcoming Stirling Sightseer will be using? I'm guessing a simple local loop around town and up to the Wallace Monument at an hourly frequency will only require a peak vehicle requirement of one.

Ah yes that would make sense. That's due for transfer to Brightbus for the Bus and Boat tour
It appears to miss out a certain battlefield where the Scots beat the English in 1314! I seem to remember that that location was dropped from the previous incarnation of this route.Does anyone have any heads-up on what vehicle(s) the forthcoming Stirling Sightseer will be using? There are ‘in-house’ painting facilities at Greenock, Johnstone and Larbert depots, where the majority of repaints are done for the McGill’s Bus Group.Where are the Midland Bluebird repaints being done?
That brings back memories of the Trossachs Trundler, a Bedford OB which ran from Callander to Loch Katrine, over the Dukes Pass to Aberfoyle, and back to Callander via Port of Monteith during the summer months. Think it was owned by the owner of Addisons Newsagents in Callander. All long gone now. There was also a Loch Earn Trundler using, I think, a Leyland Tiger. The website https://www.andypreece.co.uk/glasgowbus/servicechanges.htm shows a route called "Trossachs Explorer" operated by Mcgills Midland Bluebird.
The route runs Balfron - Aberfoyle - Callander and is shown to start from the 1st of July.
0480/1 are currently being wrapped for this service. The website https://www.andypreece.co.uk/glasgowbus/servicechanges.htm shows a route called "Trossachs Explorer" operated by Mcgills Midland Bluebird.

I hope the Larbert repaints are spray painted this time. Years ago, they used to hand paint the buses and the paintwork didn’t wear very well. There are ‘in-house’ painting facilities at Greenock, Johnstone and Larbert depots, where the majority of repaints are done for the McGill’s Bus Group.
I would have thought starting it from Stirling would make it easier for tourists. The website https://www.andypreece.co.uk/glasgowbus/servicechanges.htm shows a route called "Trossachs Explorer" operated by Mcgills Midland Bluebird.

It’s timed to meet existing routes to provide links with both Stirling and Glasgow.I would have thought starting it from Stirling would make it easier for tourists.
There's nothing wrong with brush painting buses if you have people doing it who know what they're doing and decent quality paint is used. A good brush job is just as good as a spray job.I hope the Larbert repaints are spray painted this time. Years ago, they used to hand paint the buses and the paintwork didn’t wear very well.
