Two Class 777's (032 & 034) were moved from Wembley to Walton Old Junction yesterday, with now four Units stabled at that location.

Updated Arrival List as follows:
Kirkdale C.S. = 001 to 020 inclusive, 023, 024 to 028 inclusive, 030, 031, 036, 049, 140, 142, 144, 146, 148, 150 and 152.
WOJn MSC Sidings. = 021, 022, 032 and 034.

However there is a STP path for tonight from WOJN to Kirkdale, so one / two of the Units located at WOJn may be on the move again.

777028 is now in traffic, had it on the Chester line yesterday (19/12). At least the WiFi was working on this one, unlike 777005 (again) earlier in the day.

It has been a little quiet on the 777 failure rate this week. Have things turned a corner or is this wishful thinking?

Any ideas when 777019/023/031 made there way to Kirkdale please? I see they moved together 30/8/23 to Walton but I have no onward move noted?

777011 was replaced for 777010 for the remainder of the days diagram :)
It’s not like there are no spare 777s at Southport. Maybe they should have one on permanent standby to take over the diagram, rather than just using the sidings here for remote storage from Kirkdale.

To be honest I thought that was what 777016 was doing but apparently not. It has been in the siding since Monday

Since my previous post, both No 777021 and 022 arrived at Kirkdale Depot from WOJN MSC Sidings early this morning (Wed 20/12) which just leaves two remaining again at that location.

Updated Arrival List as follows:
Kirkdale C.S. = 001 to 028 inclusive, 030, 031, 036, 049, 140, 142, 144, 146, 148, 150 and 152.
WOJn MSC Sidings. = 032 and 034.

In the meantime, it has been confirmed that the full roll out of Class 777's will take place on the remaining lines in the following order, 1) West Kirby 2) New Brighton, then finally 3) Hunts Cross - Southport.

(Edit: Thanks to three anon's for confirmation of 021 and 022 move).

Was units 777021 & 777022 moved to Kirkdale C.S. early this morning?
A request on the TOPS forum page seems to suggest it was 777032 & 777034 which moved to Kirkdale C.S.?

Yes TOPS apparently had 032 and 034 down but three eye balls noted 021 and 022. :s Who you going to say which is true?

One diagram on the Chester line appears to be cancelled this morning, 777036 dead and dark dumped on p7A at Chester. Sure it wasn't there when I booked on at 5.30am!

Traksy showing it as 5C08 RFY-CTR.

Headbolt Lane line disrupted this morning due to a broken down train at Rice Lane. Everything cancelled between about 0830 and 1000 by the look of it.

I've heard from a friend at Merseyrail a further three units are possibly to become additional /1s before delivery, and I'll emphasise it's only being considered at present. If it does end up happening, then I'd like to think it's to increase resilience for Headbolt Lane services rather than further extensions to the network while the 777s undergo their extensive bedding in period.
Seems short-sighted. There'll be 7 battery units won't there, with 5 needed for a normal service? Are ME really expecting that 2 additional units won't be enough?

Four will be needed for the full Kirkby Headbolt service. On the surface, seven trains for four workings seems ample, even generous.

However, given the struggle to get two of the 777/1s out at times to cover the current reduced service, perhaps extra resilience is sensible.

They work fine on non-Headbolt duties on the third rail with the batteries (I think some of the /1s have made their way onto Ormskirk in the past)
I don't see why a bigger backup power source and increased flexibility are a bad thing?

A few faults from yesterday/today, not extensive, just a few I've been sent, may be more, may not be more!

22/12
777030 Unable to take power
777018 Cab door failure

23/12
777010 dispatch (RFID) card fault
777014 Jammed door step (manual retract and lock out of use)
777001/011 (both unit numbers shown, presume one is a typo but can't confirm) - unable to take power, reset required
777007 smell of smoke and fire warning message

According to a poster on the Merseyside Dennis Dart website 777047/51/53 are to remain in Poland until a decision is is made on whether to fit them with long range batteries.
An extension to the Merseyrail system in the offing

Knocking about Merseyrail today and we have such gems as stuck cab doors and a 50x on the Headbolts (but 777s on Ormskirk).

I also noticed (and I am quite heavy) that I distort the panel covering the step. Never noticed that on Swiss FLIRTs.

Well, unless they've fitted batteries to a 507/8, I'm not sure how this is possible? RTT and Traksy shows a normal service to Headbolt Lane with none turned back at Kirkby.
