Appreciate the info. Are ASLEF And Merseytravel attempting to keep this rejection quiet as it don't seem to be picked up by the media? So I guess no Class 777's entering traffic this year then!
I think they’re more focused on coming to a mutually beneficial arrangement rather than concerned about the peanut gallery.

Then why the lack of media attention, even if it's just the Echo. It's a pretty big thing that the trains will be further delayed, especially with the 508s going becoming more of an issue. If they keep losing trains at this rate, without the new ones, they won't be able to run the current timetable, and that's sure to cause a commotion.

Looks like the possibility of a move on Tuesday/Wednesday, 1046 6Z43 Tyseley Steam Trust to Crewe CS and 2230 5Q44 Crewe Down Refuge to Kirkdale CS, all the time in the world for cancellation of course but with the headcode and the fact that two of the Class 20s are working Peak Forest the RA 43s could well be getting some work
There is x2 Rail Adventure 43s at Tyesley so both are in place.

Precisely. Throughout this whole saga there has been very little concern about the so-called peanut gallery, or in other words Merseyrail's passengers and the people paying for the new trains. Why care about them now when there is internal railway nonsense to worry about?

MerseyTravel are just going to capitulate like they did with the RMT anyway so why not do it now and get the new units in service instead of dragging it out even further?

I'm sorry if this is a question for another thread, but what precisely is ASLEF demanding and what is Merseytravel offering? It was strongly suggested that the new trains would be operating on the Kirkby line before Christmas/ end of the year.

Assuming the Echo staff were interested, they likely wouldn't have the nous or insight to ask relevent questions. The closest they get to covering Merseyrail is their political editor, who gets the train from Aigburth and so has a moan every now and then. Even then though his pro-union, left and labour leaning reporting wouldn't want to give any bad PR to either the unions or labour.

There is no real reporting in Liverpool right now.

'left and labour-leaning'? Something of an oxymoron these days sadly.

I'd guess this was on the basis of ASLEF accepting the proposed conditions. It's all based on the new trains being funded/tendered as DOO but now it's some weird basically-DOO-but-not-quite-so-we-didn't-have-to-lay-off-all-the-guards and they're yet to agree the driver's new pay/conditions/exact role, as far as I understand.

In the light of transfer of No 777004 last night to Kirkdale CS, these are as far as I am aware the current locations of the UK Class 777's.

Kirkdale C.S. = 001, 003, 004, 007, 008, 009, 010, 013, 015, 018 and 049.
Crewe C.S. = 002, 005, 006, 012, 014, and 016.

(PS: As for last nights move being contender for lash up of the year, I don't think so as it will become common).

777003 and 777013 are currently stored at Southport in the Wall Siding, where they've been for the past month. Not sure if one is still in the sidings at New Brighton.

777003 was on the Kirkby run this morning and i saw it again at Central station just after 16:00.

777049 was at Central station at about the same time, i saw it enter from Hunts Cross end of the station, I don’t know if it came from Hunts Cross or from the siding.

My records have 014 and 016 at Kirkdale - does anyone know roughly when they returned back to Crewe please?

Does anyone know if the works to the siding at Liverpool Central, necessary to the running of the new trains, have been rescheduled, and for when? They were postponed during the last (planned) strikes. If they are to avoid the next ones and allow the trains to start running by the end of the year, they need to get a move on.

They’re only necessary to enable 8 car running, so they won’t delay the rollout on the Kirkby line.

Concrete sleepers, new rail, a new set of buffers amongst other materials are stored in the open cess area alongside Platform 1 at Liverpool Central for the works on the Reversing Siding which I believe will now take place in January.

That is fine but for the purpose of my location reports, I will continue to refer to Kirkdale CS for location of Class 777's as they continually change locations on their test runs. To do otherwise, I be making daily reports on here and I am not going to do that. Sorry. Happy for others to confirm latest locations for Kirkdale Class 777's travelling about the system.

My records have 014 and 016 at Kirkdale - does anyone know roughly when they returned back to Crewe please?
According to observations and reports, No 777014 went to Crewe on 21st December 2021 with No 777016 went from Kirkdale to Crewe on 23rd February 2022 (had previously arrived at KD on 24th November 2021).

The less said by the Echo the better tbh, They're less interested in posting facts and more interested in posting speculation.

Do we know when this is going to go back to ASLEF/members? Seems extremely unlikely any 777 services will go live before year-end now.
